If I face a pirate using a transport/fighter and he's not trading - monmarfori - 02-02-2013

...but pirating, can you kill him without making a demand and only an engagement notice if your a bounty hunter?

I believe bounties dont require the "demand clause" Although im not sure its explicitly written in the rules.

TBH Id say that rule is stupid and should be removed anyway. We already have the "Attack must be a result of RP" rule that prevents silent engaging.

Bounty Hunting never requires a demand to be made in order to claim your kill. Just "Time to get le pew'd dude cause I'm a Merc boi" then shoot em.

If he's pirating then he's the aggressor, which is the magic word on that stuff.

Only if he's bountied and you're pursuing a bounty. Bounty hunters are not cops, they're after money.

House law enforcement can egange pirateID'd players in there ZOI regardless if they are 'trading'. Its more likely that they robbed someone's cargo Tongue

Asfar as BHG goes, The ID should say so, but it does not.

Can be contracted to escort lawful ships and fulfill lawful bounty contracts.

This is for law enforcements:

Can hunt pirates and terrorists within Liberty and the Independent Systems directly bordering Liberty

If said pirate may not be bounty'd call for example navy, and they will eb gladly to remove this problem.

In other words, if he's pirating someone and you're in a spot in space where pirating people is against the law, knock yourself out. There ARE places where a pirate could be pirating someone and there not be a bounty - make sure if you're bounty hunting that you're familiar with the house laws where ever you are operating, and of course that there's a bounty on the guy. Otherwise you can just go, meh, no bounty on you, so sorry person being pirated - unless you wish to hire me on the spot....

RP OPPORTUNITY!
