Err, GMG? *Smack* - DBoy1612 - 06-15-2008 (No... This post isn't meant to be a flame, if you want to consider it one then good for you, but it isn't...) Kaaaaaaay, so! I have a story to tell ya all. Log on Black Squadron, second I do I see two GMG in Omicron 100, right? So I'm like fine, go in, tell em to get out. Only to find something interesting. They're flying a Battlestar and a Rheinland Cruiser with GMG IDs... http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j130/dbo...2/screen109.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j130/dbo...2/screen110.jpg So, I try to RP this a bit, see what's going, right? Didn't really pay much attention to the battlestar, more specifically the Rheinland Cruiser. Amazingly enough, their grammar and system chat RP was pretty good, I was expecting total noobs from the lack of RP in their ships. I ask about the Cruiser, I believe they said they got it from Sigma 13. As I was in Bs|, I wasn't going to argue, I simply left them on their way and logged out. I begin to think, "Kay, gonna have to report these ones aren't I?", but a better idea comes to mind. I chose to want to try and RP it a bit, so I ask one of my friends whos in the GMG about where's their message dump so I can RP about these impostors. I get two answers from him. One that there is no message dump yet, and second, they're not impostors but are apart for Guyton's GMG group that plans on becoming official, and that they had permission from the group leaders to do so... SO! This is out to you guys simply asking, "what the hell are you thinking?" - First of all, the GMG do not need that kind of firepower. They mine gas, they're not a military. Fine, Sigma 13 gets whored constantly, but that's no excuse to do the same thing in return. Go buy a few bombers to handle that one. Second, a Rheinland Cruiser? Oh please, DO NOT attempt that RP on salvaging the thing from Sigma 13. Go look up on what happened to A51 when they tried to pull it off, you'll get the exact same thing really. Answers would be appreciated... Err, GMG? *Smack* - Zapp - 06-15-2008 Sweet Jesus. OK, I'm all for the GMG ID not allowing big guns (Cruisers and Battleships) on the grounds that they are miners, not military. Well, that's a different argument, and ties in with "Guard IDs allowing capital ships", something I'm a staunch believer in. Anyways! Yeah. Guess what? This isn't the best thing for a faction to pull while they're trying to become official. Also, what the deuce were they doing in the Order Guard system? "lulz zoner r our ally, u iz zoner ally, we ally" ? Err, GMG? *Smack* - Tenacity - 06-15-2008 When I was on aki checking out 100/minor for smugglers I saw these two, but they were in "unknown" by the time I got online, so I didnt pay it much attention. I did see someone named KamRa (not sure what ship type) entering omicron 100 from major. Told him in system chat to turn around or he'd be fired upon, and he didnt argue, just said "ok" and went back to major. Probably just exploring but at least he was respectful enough to follow orders. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Guyton - 06-15-2008 Let me add up we do not fly caps as you would think we do. The Rheinland Cruiser that was there was being setup for a roleplay story. Xcalibur however is setup as a exploration vessel rp meant to set out to search for the GMG's prime goal "Colonization of an Ocean world" . We figured it would be an excellent story. Rhienland Cruiser = Exodus During the 80 Years War this cruiser was captured along side with the battleship Namura. Suffering from navigational hazards when it was damaged during battle. Instead of following the Namura it instead went off in the opposite direction towards the New Berlin jumphole. A ship of its size would make such a thing unstable which it did sending it off to a unknown location. During this time this vessel was lost it actually came across the ocean world the guild was looking for. Lost with a destroyed navigation system the journey began. Story continues through generation after generation as life contnues apart the ship. -Name given by historians after rp Battlestar = Xcalibur This vessel was one of the early prototypes of the Zoners. With the guilds situation with the outcasts and corsairs it began to feel the strain hardly being able to protect itself due to the still low population after the war. Its last option was to turn to its allies for help. With weaker ships not being able to make a journey from the local systems without being destroyed. The Xcalibur was created for deep space exploration. During its journey it eventually came across the Exodus. We actually fly fighters more than anything. Those that fly through Sigma-13 would have to agree with that. Err, GMG? *Smack* - RickJames - 06-15-2008 I might need a history lesson if anyone has the time for it. Didn't GMG fight Rheinland.....and kind of win. If that's so it makes a whole lot of sense for them to have capships. They bested Rheinland. If that's accurate. If they are allowed to use capships then the Battlestars do not seem all that oorp. But thats if they are allowed to use capships. GMG using anything from Rheinland....yah..that sounds very oorp. In addition, being GMG it does make some sense to me that they would be in order space. The whole ally of an ally thing is not that far fetched. The Order needs fuel like everyone else. However, 2 GMG capships being in the Order Guard system would mean some sort of diplomatic mission or trade delegation. Something that should of been rped when Dboy showed up. If it's just GMG exploring they should of done it as GMG traders bringing gas to The Order. I'm sure someone would have an issue with that but it's ton's better than the present situation. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Zapp - 06-15-2008 Only GMG I've seen that wasn't a transport was a Zoner Destroyer, I think it was. Err, GMG? *Smack* - AdamantineFist - 06-15-2008 I was there with DBoy when this went down (Patrol.Vessel|Delta-7). The cruiser... is interesting. I kinda like the concept of GMG having captured a cruiser. I think having captured a battleship is a bit far fetched, though, especially with only the GMG's resources. As for the Battlestar... uh... I dunno. I would think that the GMG would use Kusari Explorers as exploration vessels, not Battlestars. EDIT: Oh, and one more thing. What the heck were you doing in Omicron 100? Err, GMG? *Smack* - Blodo - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:I might need a history lesson if anyone has the time for it.The thing is, ironically the GMG won because Rheinland sent in their capital ship fleet into Sigma-13, whereas the GMG took them all out with swarms of fighters and bombers who tactically used the gas pockets to their advantage. The GMG had little to none larger ships during the 80 years war, and only made a difference with advanced fighter tactics. They did manage to capture three Rheinland battleships, one of the battleships being later destroyed by Outcasts so that leaves two. What puzzles me is why is the capship a Zoner juggie rather than a Rheinland battleship if anything, and why is it a capital vessel of this size at all rather than a Kusari Explorer.. In fact I have no idea why any capships at all are needed for this faction, but yeah that's just me. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Zapp - 06-15-2008 Adamantine Fist, they did capture a Rheinland battleship, and promptly sent it into Omicron 85. You can see the wreck north-ish of Bastia. Err, GMG? *Smack* - Guyton - 06-15-2008 ' Wrote:I might need a history lesson if anyone has the time for it. We were actually moving the ships to the unknown system through means of being unseen before getting public rp in properly. But, we were caught. I rathered the battlestar seeing as Zoners actually have the technology for such deep space exploration, it would make sense. I find the Zoners to be the guilds biggest ally. |
