Event drafts: BPA/Gaians/OSC - Nevermore - 06-15-2008

Alright, Sleipnir and me were thinking about to organise some events to bring back some life to Bretonia. Aim is to draw some interest to the underpopulated factions there, like the Gaians/NLH or the BPA (join!:P). So, we've come up with two event drafts. They're only drafts and I'm looking for some feedback and ideas for them, and I'd like to evaluate if they are feasible number- and gameplay-wise.

Here they are:

Quote:The luxusliner Tahiti, recently orbiting a remote Planet in the Chester system, is being a nuisance to the Gaians. They fear that the tourist attraction draws too much unwanted attention to the yet unchartered planet, leading to another "Gaia incident". To prevent this, the Gaians are planning to give the passengers of the Tahiti a ride they won't forget...

Attack/Defend event:

- A OSC luxusliner is stationary near the unknown planet in Chester (Sleipnir has one, but if someone volunteers...)
- A Gaian force will move in and attack the liner
- After a distress call is sent, BPA moves in and try to fend off the attacking forces

Cambridge -

Few things are so controversally disputed between the acedemics of Cambridge University than terraforming. The recent announcement of a guest lecture to be held by Planetform lead scientist Dr. Anthony Elwood at Cambridge University has reignited the heated discussion between ecologists and terraforming scientists. Though, not only academics on Cambridge are opposing the Planetform philosophy, as the infamous eco-terrorist group and arch-enemy of Planetform Inc. "The Gaians" plans to interfere once again. Their signature message "Gaia will not bleed!" has already reached Planet Curacao, where Dr. Elwood momentarily resides.
Despite the obvious threat, the terraforming expert shows himself unimpressed. "They may try to stop me, but they can't stop the scientific progress.", he stated in an interview.

Kidnap event:

- An OSC/Planetform armoured transport will start at Planet Curacao and will head to Planet Cambridge. On board: a VIP
- Once in Bretonia, the BPA will welcome the transport and provide escort
- The Gaians will set up an ambush in either Manchester, New London or Cambridge
- Once engaged, the Gaians have to destroy at least 30% of the escort, before attempt to kidnap the transport. The transport will stay immobile until it is either kidnapped or successfully defended. The transport must not be destroyed in any case.
- To kidnap the transport, the attackers have to disable the shield and transfer some crew/gaians to it. After this has been done, the transport will join the Gaian group.
- The kidnapped transport may now engage cruise to cruise off, the BPA also has now the chance to chase it. To regain control of the transport again, the BPA has to destroy all attacking ships and stop the transport from reaching Islay.
- If Gaians win: sequel event (ransom?)

So, I'd like to hear some opinions, and to see how many people would be interested...

ahh man no UOG?

Dunno, since you guys are now neutral, I didn't come up with any ideas involving you...

Sounds very interesting and also isn't too far out of my characters interests, but I don't know if it wouldn't look a little bit strange to have a junker (not a die-hard one, but still, a semi-unlawful) fighting along the BPA?

Event drafts: BPA/Gaians/OSC - Tenacity - 06-15-2008

why not have the junker working for the gaians instead? Or hell, playing both sides of the conflict.

My junker hangs out around scheduled pvp events all the time, tractoring in any loot the dead part with. He's an opportunist, not a political figure.

Well were not neutral to the Gaians

The second event is a bit one sided. 30 percent of escort is a very small amount. Say... 70 instead?

This sounds wonderful! Another event for the BPA? (Didn't participate in the JG/Benitez one, so I don't know how that went) I'd love to participate!

I have to agree with Simon here, although I think 70% is too high of a percentage, if you ask me. Why not cut it at 50%?

Of course, Gronath might have more experience in this due to his recent RM event involving escorts and transports.

I like the idea. My playtime lately has been extremely limited, but if the timing is right & I can swing it, I'd be happy as hell to take part:cool:

Yeah, there's still fine-tuning on the conditions to be done, but I'd like to to hear from more Gaian players first. I know there aren't this many, but I think there should be at least some 6,7 participants on each side... Also, if you are interested, but have no BPA/Gaian character - there's still time to make one!:P
