Long fingernails while playing Discovery? - Mr.Fabulous - 03-20-2013
As of writing this thread, my fingernails measure about half a centimeter long. I keep em long simply because I find having long nails fun for a few reasons:
1.) trying to scratch yourself is exponentially more satisfying with long nails
2.) Minute manipulation like picking up coins on the floor, or manipulating SIM cards in my cellphone, are much easier with long fingernails
3.) it's fun lightly scratching other people with your fingernails like a cat... double the annoyance factor if they're long
However, long nails do have their drawbacks. While playing FL on my laptop, the nails make feeling the keyboard tougher, since nails don't have nerve fibers. For me, it helps to have your fingers and hand "flat" on the keyboard, to avoid using the nails. Also, sometimes if you're typing really fast, the nails can sometimes get caught in the holes between the keys.
So! I ask you community. How many of you have long fingernails, your reasons for/against them, and if you do have em, your ways to cope up when playing Freelancer?

Don't have long nails, but you could try a chiclet-style keyboard

actually, my keyboard's just like in that pic... they -still- get caught at times, but ye, they're less frequent in doing so.

So what? I'm a guy too. Me having long fingernails is purely for the entertainment (scratching) and utility (manipulation) purposes.

I know several people who keep at least their thumb-nail long simply for their cellphones.
As for me, I keep -all- my fingernails long because it helps me pick up stuff and scratch people. Mostly the latter.

No, because with long nails, it'd be harder to pleasure the opposite gender at specific spots. Yes, I mean that.
