When Freelancer came out in 2003, I enjoyed it very much (made through sp twice). A lot of time has passed since then, and recently I was looking for another space-sim but soon I realised that nothing better had been released, at least in my opinion.
So I wanted to try Freelancer again, but this time online. Was very disappointed when I learnt that global server had been shut down :(
Subsequently I was looking for the largest FL multiplayer community(I dislike empty servers) and that's how I found Discovery....with google, meh.
It's been more than a month now and some of you may have heard of me. Honestly, I'm not an trouble free player.
My first impressions of the mod are very good. Firstly, I was very surprised to see pilotable cap ships but also scared to see their amount of hit points and damage dealt by their turrets. I later found out that it is actually hard for capital ships (except for gunboats) to pursue and hunt down dodging pilots flying fighters and the bombers have too ........ Uh, maybe I should stop this OT now. There is a section/thread for everything. Basically, all my criticism is about several balance issues, so I'll be posting some feedback later.

The next version is coming out soon and there is probably gonna be some changes to those "balance issues"..... I think.

Hello, welcome. I am the local reverend (yes a real ordained reverend) and I am mor ethan willing to aid you in comprehension should there be anything you need.
Be sure to pay special attention to the rules. I must say it would not hurt you to peruse the faction status page and get yourself familiar with the official factions, if only so you aren't left wondering who is what and why they may be attacking you at this present moment.
Finally you may want to think about joining up with one and I can only say the the Liberty Rogues, Liberty's finest gang of cutthroats and pirates would be happy to see an application.

I eat people. Pay attention to the Reverend's post its a good one. Specially about the, "check out the faction status thread." I wish I got that word when I first started. Would have saved some harte burn. If you like machine characters PM me I have some ideas for ya. If not or you have ideas already cooked up then I can't wait to see what flavor you bring to our space.
