Lagging Bad - Redheart - 06-22-2008 Hello I am new and this is my first post...sorry.....I read through the forums but didn't come across this problem unless i missed it. Here is the thing. I run an amd 3300+ with 1 gig ram..I have no other programs running with the game either. The graphics card is an nvidia gforce 5500 128 mb ram, its afew years old but runs wow and swg ok so I dont think its on my end. There are times I hit lag walls where the screen stops and I hear the music but then the music stops and restarts after a second of silence then the game catches up. I wouldn't complain if it didn't interfere with my in game experience but this does. Anyone know a problem I over looked? Is this a known issue? Thanks for the help. Lagging Bad - Boss - 06-22-2008 Turn off 3D sound in the options. Lagging Bad - sn!p3r - 06-22-2008 Funny how that 3dsound causes so many problems? What exactly is wrong with the 3dsound? Lagging Bad - Boss - 06-22-2008 A wonderful question. I think it has something to do with the way older sound cards processed data. Newer ones can handle the buffer overrun, perhaps? Dustin, your take? EDIT: Thank you Igiss for post merge! Lagging Bad - Redheart - 06-22-2008 I try to turn it off but it seems to be grayed out for me. Any ideas why that would be? And thank you for the help too. Lagging Bad - Boss - 06-22-2008 My Documents>My Games>Freelancer>Perfoptions.ini Look for the line "3d_sound=1" or something similar and set the 1 to a 0. |
