Edit: (04-08-2013, 02:55 PM)Dusty Lens Wrote: Stop it. Some people (and by that I mean myself) enjoy exploring the magic that is this multicultural world we live in through literary means. You should at least try to appreciate the effort I put into the post that is now below this post but was the original post, because seriously while the language is warped (but honestly not that warped) the consideration is legit. Chainfiring was only considered cheating because not all players had access to it and therefore those who hadn't were at an "unfair disadvantage". However the integration of the chainfiring function into the game as well the the introduction of a Chainfiring module could potentially solve the issue. Now RP wise, it would only make sense that every faction would want to make sure they gain every bit of combat efficiency they can, and believe it or not having automated chain firing does increase combat efficiency. And upon recognizing the relative ease of implementing automated chain firing it would seem silly for these combat oriented factions not to exploit this for combat advantages. So as I have reasoned, I believe we can come to the conclusion that automated Chainfiring is not cheating. It is a technological advancement that the people of Sirius should have achieved long ago but did not, a perfectly reasonable feature that should be implemented if conditions permit, besides how do you chain fire rapid-firing guns, I rest my case. RE: Chain firing. - jammi - 04-08-2013 Note to self: never mess around with UNIX time codes again. RE: Chain firing. - SMGSterlin - 04-08-2013 No to both. RE: Chain firing. - Challenger - 04-08-2013 This sounds like an implementation headache, so I'd just as soon see the time spent on something more concrete. I mean, how would this work? FLHook-based cooldown spacing? Or do you hook the weapon fire and delay it? How could the fuel consumption ever make it more worthwhile than, say, a cloak? It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how just how compelling it is. |
