Pirates under Junker protection - athum - 04-25-2013

Situation:

Outcast fighter and junker fighter in one group.
Junker's role - is protect outcast from attacks.

Is that legal?

May i say something like: "I defended pirate from BountyHunters" ?

It might depend on where it's happening, and who it's happening against.

Against Kusari this would seem legit.

RE: Pirates under Junker protection - Huhuh - 04-25-2013

In group, I'd say yes.

RE: Pirates under Junker protection - Hawk - 04-25-2013

Uh, yeah.....I'd say that's legal. It would almost definitely have some RP consequences, but it's legal.

Yes - a specially outside the house space (or in Kusari)
where Junkers are free to pirate, so why do not team up with another pirate

However it might have some inRP consequences - eg FR5 and set hostile to house space lawfull forces.

I can see this being used as an excuse for junkers pirating inside house space:

OC shoots transport, transport shoots back at OC, Junker goes "Oh you attacked the guy Im protecting" Kills trader. Insta In-house-junker-pirate.

Not saying this is a bad thing neccessarily, just saying all the guys going "yup its legit" without actually knowing how they're gonna use it, may wanna think about that.

If the junker is in support of piracy, then the junker is pirating and in violation of it's ID if inside house space. The intention behind the "junkers do not pirate inside house space" rule is to allow the junkers to exist inside house space. If that faction were to start pirating inside house space the logical roleplay consequence is that the house factions would need to be set hostile to them, which ends their ability to smuggle.
If the junker is escorting a smuggler, it's perfectly fine.

This extends to similar quasilawful factions (Hogosha, Unione Corse).

Smuggler only?

I protected one Order ship from Bounty Hunters in Liberty. I hope I did not break the rules. Order was under my escort.

Also, i escorted corsairs in Bretonia ( no pirate actions, just crossing Leeds to Dublin ).

RE: Pirates under Junker protection - AeternusDoleo - 04-26-2013

Why would a Junker even do that? Junkers aren't mercenaries... What is the reason behind a junker escorting a flight of attack ships?

RE: Pirates under Junker protection - Karst - 04-26-2013

The Junker ID states "Can attack pirates and terrorists in self-defense, to protect a trader of an allied faction, or in defense of their bases."

Going by that, they can't protect ships that aren't traders, they can't protect freelancer traders or any other trader that isn't in an allied faction, and they can't protect anyone from lawfuls or hunters, only "pirates and terrorists".
