A fun way to deal with OORP traders - Ash - 05-27-2013
I've come across a fun way to deal with these guys, you know who they are, the one's who just asked to get spaced so they can keep their money and start over again. Needless to say this is highly OORP and very frustrating for all you hard working pirates out there spending unreal lengths of time chasing and waiting to plunder yer booty.
For all traders time is money, so the best thing to do is waste their time. In fact many traders have ended up paying in the end because I didn't shoot them, isn't that odd? Of course it's up to you to do what you want in the mean time if you like to play with your prey, but keeping them as stationary as possible tends to help considerably.
Just thought i'd share it with everyone. As a wise hobbit once said, share the load...load....load...load.....
Oh and plus, when they don't buckle it's rather entertaining to watch them freak out when they realise your not going to make it easy for them, so they jettison their cargo and shoot you with mining turrets or do a funny sundive or start ceaselessly ramming the largest stellar object.
Definitely worth a punt.

Your also wasting your time.
The best way is just to cargo pirate, or if you cant do that, shoot off all their equipment.

Agreed, but to be fair when you're not arsed about money, I find it more fun just to mess with them. Depends on what you find fun in the game.

Destroying their equipment is a funny way to deal with this, however cargo pirating is a bit tricky because if the trader is not oorp then it's quite unfair to take all their cargo 5k from their 3hour tour destination.

Alls fair in love and war.
And if they sundive, then thats all thier cargo gone AND the time wasted that it took them to fly over there, time you dont have to waste with them, you can go pirate someone else, as they'll do it on their own!
