I have a question! - AirDOG - 05-31-2013

HI guys,i wish to ask you something,is illegal if i use a Corvo zoner cruiser with other id than zoner? Let's say, navy id.THanks for your time!

RE: I have a question! - Jinx - 05-31-2013

not illegal at all - you will suffer from tech-nerfs according to mismatching tech ( you can see the tech-nerf tab on the wiki page )

you may - depending on the combination - also need to pay the inRP consequences for using another factions ship and equipment.

in case of the corvo - it is fairly civilian anyway - or as civilian as an armed cruiser can be.

edit:

it is usually recommended to ask the parent faction about the usage of the stuff. - that is not a rule, it is just polite - or inform them that you use it. - but you can also just sneak in and buy it - thats legal, too.

I have another question guys. When a pirate wanna demand credits from a trader, how should he do it to don't break the rules? As i understood, firing a cruise disruptor and getting shields down to 50 % isn't counted as an attack.I know that requires RP to.Please give me an example of pirating! And how do a pirate know how much can he ask and what,to don't break any rule. Thanks for your help!

Another question,do a zoner can be paid to work for someone? let's say, navy or rheinland? OR can he be paid by traders to defend them?

I dont think there is a rule agaisnt this, but dont be stupid with the prices. Take a look at the cargo, find out how much it is worth and do about 20% of how much they will sell it for. Or if in any doubt, 2 Mill or die :p Oh and getting a players shield down to 50% is counted as an engagement.

"Can attack lawful and unlawful targets in self-defense, to protect another trader, or in defense of Zoner bases."

I believe you are not allowed to be payed with a zoner ID, but you can still escort them and guard them thanks to the line in their ID that says so

Correct me if i am wrong

RE: I have a question! - Jinx - 05-31-2013

in theory "maybe"

but in practice unlikely. - for the first case - zoners are a diverse people from ghandi to rambo, from einstein to cavemen. - but there is one thing that unifies them - and that is that they have turned their back on the inner sphere.

if they allied themselves with these people that define their self chosen exile - it might be questionable why they are zoners in the first place. - but since that is disco - and not all zoners have migrated from the inner sphere - but some zoners have been born in the outskirts - it may be possible.

however - if they chose that path - they would rather migrate back into the inner sphere - henceforth not being zoners anymore but mercenaries or even join the navy.

about the second case ... no idea. zoners by ID can defend themselves and their kin. - they cannot take bounty contracts - escorting non zoners is likely not possible - and also questionable behaviour for a zoner. - if a zoner had the urge to do that - he would much more likely become a mercenary or freelancer.

Its fine to demand the entire cargo/cargo worth, however most traders wont pay this, so i wouldnt advise it, half is the most you can generally excpect to get.

An example of pirating would be:

Pirate: "Halt," *fires cd* "hand over 3 million credits".
Trader: *silently tries to cruise*
Pirate: *Shoots the trader until he runs out of regens* "Last chance, pay up"
Trader: "OK OK, *pays the money*
Pirate: "Thankyou, get outta here"
Trader: *cruises away and calls the police*
