Violation Reports - Xoria - 07-01-2008 Do you want people punished appropriately, quickly, and justly for violating the server rules? Then read and follow these posts : http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5655 Do NOT post reports without screenshots. DO state the exact name of the character that you are reporting. State your character name also. DO provide a clear picture of the context/background behind the rule violation. DO provide a copy/paste of the server rule that you think was violated. If you can't find the rule that was violated, then you probably should NOT post a report about it. Innaccurate reports or reports without sufficient evidence of a rule violation cost a LOT of time. Violation Reports - Fletcher - 07-01-2008 Fletcher signs and understands. Violation Reports - n00bl3t - 07-01-2008 Do we want people punished? Or do we want them to learn from their mistakes and become positively contributing members of the community? Too many people are hung up on sanctioning people and expecting them to "pay" for what they did. Violation Reports - Guyton - 07-01-2008 Agreed, some tend to report even without knowledge if the rule they are speaking even exist. Though in some situation it is completely obvious which rule was broken(Pst, commons ones like oorp docking etc). Violation Reports - Dopamino - 07-01-2008 I see a lot of people reporting people for things that aren't against the rules. Violation Reports - BaconSoda - 07-01-2008 And to think I was asking the admins if that was helpful or not when I posted my reports.... Will do, Xoria. I think I'm going to aid the ban hammer a lot more than I did before.... Violation Reports - Stucuk - 07-01-2008 No clue if this happens or not but imo people of a low level should imo get warnings first and only after breking more rules get banned/whatever. Problem i see with the "I want Justice" attitude is that it can lead to players leaving the server for good just because they never fully read the rules. I know the "Well not reading the rules is not an excuse" but the problem with a "Insta Ban" is that it pushes people away, a warning(Say puting an item in there hold saying they have a warning for breaking a server rule) for a first time offence with lower levels is more likley to have an effect and keep them on the server. Alot of people imo have a bad attitude to newer players and just want them banned because they don't adjust to RP as quickley as they would like. |
