Default is 60. Slower PCs running lower. Vsync caps on 60, if you turn it off then watch out for hounds and it's fresh trend so everyone is very jealous about the lagging people.

You shouldnt run into trouble there. Just dont toy around with Vsync or other driver settings that magically increase your fps and you will be fine.

I have more than 350fps but for the sake of disco i limit it for 100, not everyone can get the best pcs so I do my little share by being moderate and "in-line". Though I don't see why you shouldn't have the best performance and best graphics, sometimes it makes the difference, all other games are favoured by fps because you'd be better, but.. here its ugh.. disco is not "call of duty" if you know what I mean, both in community and the possible software problems it could cause
