So, since i haven't posted on the forum for a while it's time to talk about something and here i go.
Today i had some free time (maybe too much) to think about what can be a possibly positive future of this whole mod.I came up with an idea of something maybe strage. I try to explain everything as good as i can.
First the name of the new MMO game based on Discovery and not on Freelacer, yes yes, not on Freelancer but actually on Disco.
Age of Discovery (but the name isn't really important)
The background story:
-The first steps
It was not so long ago when humanity entered in to the inter galactic stage. They started to build the first FTL ships and they made their first real discoveries. They already had some really good space faring tech but they just started to venture in to a new ground on the tech-tree. Now with new ways to expand the human knowledge from space the Solar Alliance were formed and the first time in mankinds history there were peace on Earth. Everyone was so excited from all these new things in travel and science. In the first years things were really interesting but later as the surrounding systems were explore everything went back to normal, but the earth wide peace remained intact.
-The discovery
Five years later humanity found something on the surface of a unpopulated planet. That thing was a strange half metalic half biological object, with unknown carwings on it and at night it had a faintly glowing dark green aura. The interesthing thing about this object was that it was found in a middle of a small jungle like oasis what slowly taken up more and more space on the otherwise lifeless planet. Later humanity discovered that this object can be used for colonyzing purposes because it worked like a seed, but it had multiple genetic codes stored inside. Within a short time its got the name "The Seed". After a long testing period on the planet where it was discovered they found out that if they let The Seed to take over certain percentage of the planet than the planets echology can become selfsutaining. This way The Seed can be reused to terraform other planets. The first terraforming what was made by humanity is made on Mars. They planted The Seed and after a few years they already had a small rain forrest around it.
-The unfortunate turn
With such power humanity got rid from the lack of food and water, now they had the power to terraform basicly every planet which had a small sing of capability to sustain life. Now we're ten years after the Mars terraforming. The unkown planet where the seed was found now a fully green lush world full of life, Mars also having its own green continents and some lakes and seas. But this peaceful life is rushing in to its end. As the total and utter peace allows all of the companies to produce a hundred times more products than what the whole society requires an echonomic chatastrophe become inevidable. The Solar Alliance falls apart and only in weeks everyone is fighting for its survival. A full scale world wide war takes place on earth and after the fall of the orbital platforms someone makes the biggest mistake. The mistake what takes more than a city, or a country. Noone really knows who pushed first the red button to start the earth wide nuclear war but everyone knows the price what they paid for it. Earth was lost. All of the continents were wiped from every life.
-The new beginning of Earth
Due to the insanely heavy losses humanity decided to leave earth as it is. The atmosphere were unable to keep the radiation away and there was only dust and ashes and ruins all over the world. But now Earth had a strange ring...a ring of ship wrecks. From huge battleships to small fighters and transports there were all kind of floating junk. A small group of people tried to make their living in the junk field what was left there as a sing to not forget the past. At this time Mars is now a fulli self sustaining green planet with small settlements and refugee camps on it. War is now mostly over but the great peace is just a memory. Now everyone tries to survive on its own. Clans forming and new ideals are coming in to the picture. But some other events are also happening far from the main human colony on Mars. Right before the great war started on Earth they transported The Seed to a station to keep it in a safe place. That station got hit also as the others. Later the station was abandoned and The Seed was forgotten. From a collosion with a half battleship the remains of the station were destabilized from orbit and got pulled in by the planets gravity. It was a dayli thing for the people in that junk field to see something entering in to the remainig atmospehere and crashing in to the planets surface.
-Forgotten Earth
When the people of Mars realized the positive sides of the small group living in the Earth junk field they convinced them to move their home ships from the earth ring to the debris fields around Mars. This was the time when Earth, the Moon and its surounding space was abandoned. Year after year the life on Mars started to become better and better, small wars angains pirate families and bigger clans happend, so now everyone had a ship with some combat capabilities. Twenty years later humanity discovered the faith of the abandoned Earth, now it a fully living planet with strange animals and plans on it. They started to search on the surface for something. The humans in this time heard only rumors about the object what can creaty life on a nearly dead planet. The search for the object was hard, the jungel what now covered the whole planet was thick and it seemed to be rather unfriendly, it was strange that it felt like the whole planet is now one entity. Some times groups composed from multiple animals attacked the researchers, but not just randomly, every attack looked like as a well planned and coordinated attack. The price was high but humanity found the object, now it was a part of the planet, huge animals guarded it day and night and The Seed itself now had strong roots fixing it to the ground. The parts of the station where it was kept still can be found around it but only in small amounts. The others were just melted away by nature itself.
-The visitors
Earth is now a green planet full of life again, but this time, Earth can protect itself. Any actions made to reclaim Earth was quickly stopped by the planet so humans left the surface only to watch it from space. One day a jung man discovered somehthing again. A second seed. It was smaller than the one what brought Earth back from death but it was definitely a seed object growing out from the surface. After five years the planet had six from these seeds. But now they haven't found other smaller ones, just the six full siezed ones. At night they now had a strong green glow around them, they pulsed and started to send out signals. After they sent out the first signal package, everyone was in panic that maybe the extition of humanity is coming. But they had luck, now the creators of the Seed made a visit to the Solar system just to find out what happened there. This new advanced race helped humanity to rediscover the lost FTL technology and showed to them how to build new houses and cities wich are able to keep a harmonic life between the humans and the planet. Now with this new knowled and the help of the visitors whose name was the Ad'a Min, humans managed to finally go back to Earth and live there onece again.
-Nowdays
This new way of life wasn't made everyone excited. Some of them wated to get rid of the Ad'a Mins. Other groups wanted to capture one of their ships to get the unkown tech what they used. Now as the human race was mainly rehabilitated only a small group of Ad'a Min remained on Earth, and established a base there to keep the planet in peace.....
....now its your time to explore, build your life and your ship and then to chose your destiny.
Don't know how crazy or anything else the story is but hey, it's just an idea, so don't be shy and tell me everything about it, what you think etc.
So, i want to explain why the name Ad'a Min for the strange friendly race. It's easy. This'll going to be the "admin" race.....i hope you get the joke...yeah i know it's terrible...but why not.
Now something else, i thought about a short sentence, a motto or something like that, here it is: Your ship is your home, your home is your freedom, your freedom is your life.
I think about something EvE like but with in a more comlex game, Like planetary landing but not like in freelancer, much more like in Infinity, and everything can be player built. Better to say, new commers only have a few premade ships to chose from, light and midclass fighters and some transport ships. Everything else can be player owned. They exploring of the new systems the naming of the new planets, cities, stations etc. The player can give a name to its ship as so that can be used as a ID signal. So, i imagined it as something composed from EvE, Spore (i'll explain it why) WoW, Infinity and Discovery.
Why EvE?
The sieze does matter. That's the only reason why i mention this game as a example. EvE has some really big ships.
Why Spore?
Now here comes the "players evolve the game". What i think about is a spore like station and ship building. You have basic modules, your fantasy, and many ways to combine the parts you have there. Yeah it can be damn hard to balance this but bigger ship needs bigger everything, what makes it slower, and in some cases unable to land on a planet because of its own weight. And if a captain is brave enough to check it out what happen, he/she can see a nice realtime crashlanding, and a bonus explosion.
Why WoW?
We need instance like missions in the uncharted space, and some raids with big bosses so we can tell stories about them, and start up rumors blah blah blah......not everyone wants to only pvp some players prefer this way of gameing, and some time this side can give more tasks for the support class ships, and the equipment. Everyone likes to customizes the ship he's having.
Why Infinity?
Infinity has the most realistic planetary landing i've ever seen. And it has as i know randomly generated planets...and those planets can be explored fully.
Why Discovery?
Well, it's really easy, we have the best community, and some of the most awesome ship modelers around the world. These girls and guys would be able to create such a game.

The map:
It can be a really big system for first, and later when the Ad'd Min race feels humanity ready they can give them the jump gate technology, BUT this isn't going to look like as in Freelancer, nooo no. These jumpgates are going to be more like the hypergate what we see at the end of Freelancer. They only here to connect really far places together. But, the game can be developed this way, so when the admin team wants to give something new to the players they have the tools to add a new randomly generated (there can be specific details so the can set up what tipe of planet they want) planet or something else without problem. Since the game i imagined was made as an MMO it can support much more than 1000+ players online at a same time. We don't really need hardcore graphipcs. The feel what can really touch the players, like in Freelancer, it doesn't have awesome graphics but it still has many fans.
So what i want in short is: Players can and maybe even depend on their creativity in game to create the perfect ship for their survival, and they can form the game with their activities. They can build cities, small starports on planets and in space and expand them, and much more.
I think it would be interesting to have such a game. Only a small preset content to have something to begin with and everything else is depeding on the community. From the names of the planets to the shapes of the ships and stations. Well ofc naming a planet is not something what can be treated lightliy. After a new planet was added admins can give out a small info from it. Like making a news report on a planets local hub or something like that. So, we see this info, and accept the adveture, and actually find this new planet, we want to give a nice name to it. A window pop up asking us if we want to give a name to the planet. Hell yeah! Sure we want. But it's not going to be that easy. We can't just name a planet like: Planet Beer. First we write down the name what we want to give to that planet in to that window what's poping up. But this isnt the end of the naming procedure. After we named the planet the admin team gets a notification, and they will decice, if it's ok then the player gets a pm that the naming was succesfull...if the name isn't ok then the player gets a pm that the naming wasn't succesfull with a reason like (dumb names aren't allowed, you're a derp, that's not fit in the role, the name is already taken...[place your own here])
Classes: There are three classes with some subclasses i have in mind right now.
Engineer: These guys are the ones to look for if you want a new ship or equipment.
-Ship specialist: They're are trained for ship building from the smallest to the biggest ones.
-Weapon specialist: They're the masters of weaponsmithing. Some times a good weapon specialist can win a war for his clan or company.
-Equipment specialists: They're the real tech geeks, shields, jammers, scanners, transmitters....rumor sais some of them can make cloakin devices too.
Fighter pilot:
-Scout: They prefer the lighter ships like fighters and interceptors. They have insanely good aiming and flying skill with those ships.
-Warrior: They're the guys with the heavy ships, from heavy fighters to bombers and even some gunships and gunboats. We can say, firepower is their life.
-Captain: These talented war veterans commanding the biggest ships known by humans. Yes, we talk about the Cruisers and Battleships. The captains are respected because of their knowledge, achievement and combat skills.
-Spec Ops: These guys are crazy! Stay away from them! If you see them just go away and hope you can survive it. They can take out everyone and everything without question, and they do their job better than anyone else. These guys can be rarely seen and they use experimental, and some times unstable tech, they prefer modified ships with hi-tech equipment, they like to do the dirty work in silent.
Traders:
-Smuggler: They like to live dangerously and to make money from illegal goods. Some of them are also adventurers, or maybe a member of a great pirate faction.
-Cargoship captain: The're the people from the big transport ships or from the bar, they prefer a calm lifstyle, you can have a good talk with them, but remember, they aren't afraid from a fight and are capable to defend their ship and cargo if the situation requires it. Some of them even modify their ship so it can withstand more hits and can hit back hard.
These are the current classes in my mind right now. Have some other crazy ideas like how to expand the number of the NPC ingame compared to the number of the player owned stations. So the game would be something where you can really do whatever you want.

That day i've got a lots of time to think about such things...hehe...one day i really want to try and make a game...but the problem is, i lack of basicly many things to do that. And not just hardware but knowledge also. So this whole thing gonna stay a dream/imagination/idea/something.
