(16 July 2008) Edit: Sorry, but I have found out that I am wrong on a couple of things.

Items found incorrect will be marked with a strike through and the revised version in ( ). New referance material will be marked with %%% referance %%%

****Original Post*****

The past couple of days that I have been on the server, I havn't been able to RP my char alot. I have been bombarded with re-engament type questions. Granted that a large protion are low level or new players and if I couldn't answer their questions, I attemped to pass them on to more experianced RP's. I have also attepted to show them the way to the Forum. But some of the questions were without an understanding between rules 5.7 and 5.8. Some of the questions were like, "We fought in NY but we are in Califorina now, So we can fight again." I try to do it in RP, but since I am relative new here I went back to the Rules and the Forum and studied it this morning. <strike>If I am wrong then do not post but let this thread die a quick death</strike>. (Sorry. Edit: If I am wrong, let me know. I will take the lashes sir.)

' Wrote:5. General PvP Rules

5.7 A player who was killed in a PvP fight must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.

If the player respawns in the same system, he/she must leave the system without engaging. Other players are not allowed to attack one who is leaving.

5.8 A player who was killed in a PvP fight must not re-engage the enemy (player or players involved in the death) with any of the characters on his/her account(s) for 4 hours.

5.9 After a death in a PvP fight, players should switch to other characters (preferably with different role-playing status) for no less than 4 hours.

' Wrote:Only the loser is prohibited from attacking the winner.

The winner is allowed to attack the loser as many times as he wishes under the following conditions :

1. if the loser refuses to leave the system where he was killed

2. if the loser returns to the system where he was killed before 4 hours have passed,

3. or if the winner encounters the loser in another system than where the first fight took place.

Scenario:

Player A PvP Player B in Texas
Player B loses and as per 5.7 leaves Texas for New York
Player A leaves Texas for New York , say 30 min later and meets Player B in the New York System, under 5.8 <strike>they can only trade RP banter and not engage</strike> (Player B cannot engage Player A, but Player A can engage player B. This is why 5.9 is recommended).

Scenario:

Player A PvP Player B in Texas
Player B loses and as per 5.7 leaves Texas for New York
Player A leaves Texas for Califorina, say an hour later.
Player B leaves New York for Califorina with Players C and D.
Players A, B, C, and D meet in the Califorina system an 1.5 hours from the origanal PvP in Texas.
Players A, C, and D may engage but Player B must NOT engage the battle that involves Player A under 5.8. (unless Player A engages player B and this allows Player B to defend him or her self. Note: Player A should announce his intentions to engage Player B in RP so there is no question of who is starting the engagement.)

Scenario:
[indent]Player A (Lawful).....Player B (Unlawful)
Player A PvP Player B in Texas
Player B loses and as per 5.7 leaves Texas for New York
Player A leaves Texas for New York , say 30 min later and meets Player B in the New York System, under 5.8 <strike>they can only trade RP banter and not engage</strike> (Player A may engage Player B. Player B cannot be the first to fire in the engagement.)
<strike>But Player A and /or Player B may call in support and ask them to engage for them as long as Player A and B never engage each other till the 4 hour limit in 5.8 is meet.</strike>

There are many different scenarios out there so if this does not answer your question, I have added the below links:

Reengaging in another system

I hope this helps.

As far as I am aware, if you fight person A in New York and die, you MUST leave the system the he is occupying fir a 4 hour time frame. Wherever he is, you shouldn't be. Even if you both move systems, its illegal as far as I am aware, you have to stay away. This includes firing up the cruise engines, suiciding and docking, not to mention F1'ing.

Once any of those has happened stay away from the victor's system for 4 hours. The loser must be giving a chance to leave said system.

Sorry about the gravedigging thing earlier, I thought it was a jab at me since it was me in my noob days. Sorry about that.

Is there anyone able to correct or confirm my opinion on it?

EDIT: When it comes to traders they can bypass the 4 hour ban, but as far as I am aware the victor CAN attack again. As long as its justified. Like pirating or Xenos.

Calling in support? I got nothing wrong there, but the loser MUST leave the system which the victor occupies.

Far as I'm aware, the phrasing of the rule specifies "in the system where the fight took place", meaning that if B went to NY, then A went to NY, then everything is fine and dandy. Again, if B goes to NY, and A to California, then B may return to Texas. If A were also to return to Texas, B may remain there, as A has left the system. Same applies for fleeing.

Also, it specifies that the loser (in this case B) may not engage the winner (A) for four hours. HOWEVER, it says nothing of player A engaging player B, meaning that player A may attack player B once more, where ever player B may be, although player B is entitled to self defence, as defending himself is not "engaging".
