Pretty hard to pirate in a battleship since you lack cruise disruptors, your only way is to fire fast at the target but small transports or fast ones will get away from you laughing out loud
sure..you can pirate in BS,alone ,traders, will ignore you and is very hard to pirate at lanes instead of jumpgate/jumpholes because others will laugh at you while cruising away like a "pro"
and in numbers:you will be most likely a liability if gank fleets arrived..
so..only pirate as high as cruiser and below
