The Huntress is nearly impossible to fly through asteroid fields on cruise, it's slow and easy to hit, and it doesnt really have all that much firepower.
The zoner destroyer would be more In-RP for a zoner to fly, and it's fairly manuverable for a cruiser-class ship.
So the Zoner Destroyer is a Cruiser class ship then? didn't know that.
destroyers and cruisers are the same class of ship in disco. ( they share the same shield power ) and weapon class. - the difference is that of the small battleships and the big ones. - basicly not existent, but there are a few differences in stats.
I would have to say buying the Hunttress would be a big mistake. It is by far in my opinion the worst cruiser out there. It can sometimes even be destroyed by a gunboat. Although if you really want to buy one I'd say if you came up with a good rp story for it I think you could fly it with a zoner ID( like say you protect the freeports or something like Jinx said).
Edit: well some cruisers are a lot easier than most, like the Hunttress, Tenacity

any cruiser can be taken out by a good gunboat pilot with the proper gunboat and proper weapons :D
But to the OP, yes, destroyers and cruisers are both considered cruiser-class vessels.
They both use cruiser-class shields and cruiser-level weapons; however, destroyers tend to have slightly less armor and fewer gun hardpoints, but more manuverability.
