It would be interesting if they had "subsystems" where if you damage a certain part, it's overall efficiency goes down.

Eg: If you shoot off the engine, it slows down.

But that's a tad of a far shot, perhaps try a core nerf instead?

The most basic way would be to implement the technerf system.
Certain parts would be given the same status as an ID or so. Shooting it off removes the part and results in a core nerf. This can be continually done until the ship becomes useless.

Or something like that....

IMO, not gona happen anything to capital ships. 86 was right example, when devs tryed to change players attitude to cruisers, which were unpopular in 85. They did it in way we have it now... cruiser with same setup can solo any ship, from battleship to fighter. Which is kinda, hell, it completely STUPID!!!!! No matters of skills and experience, but cruiser should not be able to solo battleship. Well, but how it's sayed: Nobody cares. There is no more such battleship spam, just more annoying cruiser spamn.

However, I think, we are demanding to much from a game, which was made for fighter only. Making indeed balanced capital ships system and stats would probably take greater time to be made, and greater efort, so, let's be happy or not with what we have now.

Gotcha, you can voice any ideas you like like we all can. But this one have ZIRO of my support.

So I'll voice my own opinion on caps then: Buffing them and further increasing the amount of reasons for crowd to get one while making it easier by making insanely profitable credit sources is retarded and will bring nothing good for the server, for the rp, for whatever you call it - it's just bad.

regardless of what they think about the idea, battleships should be nerfed - thats my logic speaking, and the same logic under " 20 caps can't destroy a pob : " yet 1 cruiser can kill 2 bs . That's to say, logic is what we want it to be. Nerf it or buff cruisers

A good start would be to increase maintenance costs for battleships, along with their combat efficiency. It'd solve problems like this one:

Two little words and battleships suddenly become useful and balanced.

Webifier module.

A module that targets a single ship, within a certain range, draining a certain amount of ship energy per second, and slowing that ship by some percentage.

Now, the battleship can defend itself against a small number of bombers by picking one that gets close, webbing it, and shooting it to bits.

This is much better than the 'titan' idea. Who wins in a titan vs titan battle, if neither ship can be destroyed? It'd look like one of those slap-fights little girls have until they tire themselves out and go do something else.

Well, that proposal will be instantly shot down, because EvE is a better game than Discovery and we should not take anything they do for our own. Not our way.

I think this is a really good idea. You can make the energy draw fairly high since the caps that really need this kind of weapon are the big battleships that have large powerplants. Now, instead of using your powerplant uselessly blasting away at the void of space, you can use some of it to make hitting your target easier. It reduces the effectiveness of the small bomber group's primary advantage: You can only shoot at one of them at a time, so the one getting shot at just flies stupid-erratically while the rest are free to shoot you.

Oh, and it'd be a great thing to build at player bases.
