I remember when i was playing long enough on the rp server to actually get out and earn some money by escorting, thankfully provided by the tougher liners who did not really need the protection but allowed the newbies to get some cashflow. On one occasion i saw (or heard over the comms, that is) a Transport being pirated, stopped by the Cali JG. The transport was hauling Boron as i heard the reply to the question what was his route. The pirate asked him 1.5mil i think yet the pilot answered that he had just bought this ship and spent all his money...(also seen pilots use that excuse a lot of times to avoid the taxing) yet the pirate did something pretty funny (in my eyes that is)..he simply said that he will escort the trader to his destination (LD-14) and once the trader would sell the cargo, pay him then.
So is this allowed or not, haven't seen that kind of reaction from a pirate before.
In my eyes, even if the taxers are allowed to pirate the same ship over and over, it does not mean they should do so...it depends on honor in this case, i mean, why not simply write down the name of the already taxed ships and pirate them once a day or so. It would not be fun to tax the same rhino its 100k if he earns only 50$ per run at best.
This could've been me in one of my old pirate chars.
(which got deleted for inactivity, what a shame)
I usually don't play unlawfull chars on a regular base,
but if I have focus on having some fun and not on PVP.
Apart of that I'd never pirate a trader below lvl 60, and if,
I only request some cargo to for the fun of it.
I think the pirating thing should be considered more a matter
of bringing some additional RP to the game then being a serious
way to make cash by annoying other players.
Most players I know from Disco do have honor and do usually only pirate
highlevel traders and max. once per day, that's just a matter of fairplay and
being mature.
Also pirates demanding more than 1 mill. tax seem ridiculous to me, like I said
before, pirating should be done for RP reasons and not to make serious cash.
