In FLstat weapons have that 2 characteristics. How do they work?

Hit points is likely their health level, like your hull etc.

Toughness...this was discussed on teamspeak once but I can't remember the answer. Hopefully someone else will shed some light on that.

And if hit points are actual hit points of weapons, how can they survive even one nuclear mine without falling apart?

I guess it would depend on whether the mine impacted directly onto the weapon itself, or if the damage was more absorbed into the hull.

?

I think every ship part and piece of equipement has a value of "explotion resistance".
That will explain why every gun doesn't fall off after a mine.
