well - here is the zoner version of the whale. - it features a double hull ( at least on the parts that are protected by the hull anyway ) - and follows the new zoner warship design.... or in short, its a transport version of the juggernaut.

8 stubby wings, underneath sensor array, a generous bridge section and lots of lots of space for containers ( no... they are a fixed part of the model, and no, i cannot make it so that they are purchasable or replaceable by other container models )

the ship has 4 engines that are all located in the center of the whole ship, well protected. - a special hardpoint is the shield, which is attached to the outside of the ship - just on top of the roof ( the place you see the fire spilling out on the left bottom image ( side view ))

the whole ship is around 15% larger than the GMG whale and a lot wider. it has no weapons at all - but a CM dropper.

all in all, this ship design is a lightweight. - the whole "shell" sections are really only that - shelter for containers. - the actual ship is a narrow mainframe that goes from the front to the back with 4 big engines.

enjoy - if you guys like it more, i d submit it as a zoner transport of whale characteristics. - possibly exclusive to zoners and meant as a heavy freeport supply.

ahh, one good thing... it does NOT look like a maggot ( like the whale ) - but the whale textures are of a higher quality.


edit: i could prolly also add 16 turret hardpoints and make this transport a zoner version of the container transport - or a civilian semi destroyer ... or i add 32 hardpoints and make it a "i lag you to death" transport. - well.... maybe 1 turret is in order though - for the people that stumble across a wreck.

I much prefer the second one, as i don't enjoy flying the larger transports. The whale is a fun little ship, and giving it better protected engines, CM and more cargo gets my vote, even if size and manouverability is slightly compromised. - especially if its that good looking!

I'm part of a zoner trading faction - our sole purpose is trading and protecting other traders, we only do RP approved routes (definately no diamonds)

I understand that power traders can abuse the zoner ID, however, their primary purpose is trading, that shouldn't be limited by a poor cargo size.

yes, equip one weak hardpoint for asteroids/wrecks.

Now -that- was what I was talking about! Absolutely delightful!

However, while it's difficult to view the textures up close, I'm searching for some of the 'crew appointments' that you mentioned and am coming up a bit short.

Unless it's a 100% Whale replacement and the notion being that there is no longer any space for 'em.

Lastly! Can you make the light on the left wing red (to be 100% nautically compliant:D) and, yes, the traditional bluebell turret slot for wrecks/mining would be splendid!

the ship is not meant to replace the GMG whale. - the whale is too popular for that. - it is submitted as a maximum cargo zoner only transport used to supply zoner installations.

if things went the way i intend it - its a new addition and the whale is left as a cheap and large transport, while this one is going to be a long range ( yet rather defenseless ) transport. - to enforce roleplaying it as a zoner installation transport, we can only write about it in the ID card.... the rest is up to the players.

i suggested it to cost 200 million... so that the usual powertrader wouldn t want to use it - but would still go for the adv. train.

I like it but the color couldn't be yellower, because the zoner ships (Eagle Hawk Falcon) skin are yellow.
