Try something completely new and something you'd not try otherwise. Also, your group does not need a leader.
A good example were my Torpedoes. We didn't even have ranks, but we beat the activity compared to our official faction with that ID two times over.

I already have one, but leadership isn't my strong side. And if I can't make already existing faction work, what chances do I have with a new one?
A sirius wide Pirate group may sound nasty to some, but the utmost fun for those who are a part of it. Go ahead and make one, travel anywhere and SNAC everyone's rear.
And as Spazzy said, dont have a leader or any ranking. Just a group of extraordinarily bored men, abusing traders and ganking lawfuls( In mother Liberty, the lawfuls gank you)

Sorry, but how long Torpedoes lasted last time? Two months? Yarr-harring and killing everything red is cool, but people becoming bored quite soon.
But I'm happy that I've promted you on recreating faction.
Anyway, gonna bug Lyth about JM a bit, they sounds like a best option right now.
