If you haven't heard about Heartbleed yet, you might want to google it.

I'm curious if you take such incidents serious, or if you don't care about your passwords and data. After all, it's quite an effort to change one's passwords like once a year. What's your tactic?

Banking information, sure, I'll change that. And stuff on a similar level too.
But otherwise, to quote luke, I can't be bothered.

For forums like this, no I didn't. For important ones, yep. Also, work got a little crazy last week renewing SSL certs.

I use a self-made 12 digit character generator for my passwords and keep them all in a physical format. I tend to change my PWs once a year at best, so this really did not cause any problems for me. Simply a case of changing it a few months earlier.

lastpass etc are not affected. Using heartbleed required you to know about it before the public was informed of the exploit, so if you have applied the basic rule of one password per website there's absolutely nothing to fear. Just change the password of important stuff. Discovery is simple unencrypted http so your pw are safe from heartbleed as openssl isn't even here.

Got like 3-4 generic passwords that circulate for forums like this, or games such as LoL. For more important stuff (like my email, Steam account, and other stuff-I-pay-for) I have unique passwords that I change every once in a while.

I have unique passwords for the important stuff and for the rest I haven't bothered worrying about them.
