I came across this topic about a sanction and i wanted to make a comment on it. Maybe others share the same view as me and want to say something about this too, if so please do it in here.

This sanction is basically 2 sided, on one hand the official factions which made things not clear and well other non faction members (indy zoners/grn) for not knowing the way the officials are heading too. This is also partly the fault of Zoners, because they are not united or documented by one player (admin lore team or whatever) to guide the people trough the game. You need a direction and people should know what direction they should take, are allowed to do as the official faction do have for example faction right 2:
Quote:Official player factions have authority over players of the same NPC affiliation, as long as RP justification is provided. This authority applies in forums and in-game, and applies to player faction diplomacy, and strategic and tactical direction, however, exercise of that authority, on the forums and in game, is restricted to official faction members with the rank of the official faction leader and second in command(s) of the faction. The authority may be exercised through the use of in-game in-RP orders, which, if not obeyed, can result in in-game in-RP consequences (arrest, court martial, and even "lethal" force in extreme circumstances). Official player factions cannot, under any cicrumstances, require another player to follow non-canon RP if that player doesn't want to. In case of IDs with multiple official factions, this right is nullified and cannot be used by any of the factions.
If the leaderships do not care (or people lack time due to leading more then 1 faction) then you cannot blame independent players for causing problems.

Not exactly. Nowhere in laws or GRN information thread Zoners are counted as unwanted party or shot on sight.

So in this case, those sanctioned where not following Gallia's diplomacy.
Or, if GRN| is actually counting Zoners as hostile, then it is also their fault for not updating laws/info to reflect that.

The part people are missing is that these GRN destroyed a trade vessel without giving a demand. Thats against the rules, regardless of what the official faction says about their deplomacy.

Unless your ID says "May treat %faction as combat targets", you need to make a demand that is refused before you destroy them.

But yes, the GRN/zoner relations should be cleared up in the official faction status.

You oversee the point, its not about the zoners in general nor the GRN. The factions should keep their lore or path they want to walk clearly for the public who wants to play as an individual. It could prevent things like these, but also makes more things to do for the official faction leads.

The reason of the sanction was made clear with me on skype by an admin and now mwerte tells the same too. One MUST make a demand before pew.. or well shortly must RP properly before you shoot something. Or its mentioned on the id that you may treat faction X as a target.

Not something. Any transport must be given demand before being blown up, unless ID explicitly states "Can tread X as combat targets"

Quite unrelated, but I think the Zoner restart gives a hostile GRN rep. Is this intentional? Or any problem on my side?

I remembered last, that a Zoner Borderworld restart gives a neutral rep with GRN !!! .. Not sure about the new changes though.
