Discovery 4.88 Technology Compatibility Chart

Technology compatibility plugin (Often referred to as 'techcompat' or 'technerf') is a system which adjusts the powercore on each character based on the combination of ID, ship and equipment used. This system applies a 2-layer filter to each character, one based on the ID and one based on the ship. The intent behind this plugin is to allow every possible combination to be used to a sensible degree based on the server roleplay and mod balance.

The plugin applies a Ship-based and an ID-based nerf to each character:

Ship-based Technology Compatibility Chart (Shipcompat)

Ships are listed in the rows of the above chart, and technology groups are listed in the columns. To use this chart, you need to find the row for the ship your character is using, and then the corresponding cell under the technology column of the guns and equipment you have mounted on the same ship.

- If the cell is Blue, you'll get 100% core for that piece of equipment.
- If the cell is Green, you'll get 90% core for that piece of equipment.
- If the cell is Orange, you'll get 75% core for that piece of equipment.
- If the cell is Red, you'll get 10% core for that piece of equipment.

Note that this chart overrides the ID-based chart, which means even if your ID allows a gun and a ship at 100%, but the use of that gun is not allowed on that ship, you'll get 10% core on that character.

ID-based Technology Compatibility Chart (Techcompat)

IDs are listed in the rows of the above chart and ship and technology groups are listed in the columns. To use this chart, you need to find the row for the ID mounted on your ship, and then corresponding cell under the technology columns of both ship and equipment you're using on that character.

Note that these rates effect the powercore recharge rate, not the maximum capacity, and the rates do not stack and the lowest will be used for your character, so if you are using a 90% ship and a set of 75% guns, your final powercore will be reduced to 75%.

With this system, every ship (allowed within the ship-class restrictions of each ID) and equipment belonging to an open faction can be used without being in violation of the server rules, and only the nerf applied would be the drawback of having open access to such technologies. Apart from a few exceptions (Close allies sharing their technology, or civilian/house civilian technology), each ID only has 100% cells to its own technology, and any other usable technology for each ID is listed as 90% cell or below.

To see the details of which exact gun or ship is listed under which category, click on the name of the column and you'll see a list of internal nicknames of all the items under that column. Use a program like FLStat to find the in-game name of each item based on its internal nickname.
