(This looks more like a section for disco related tutorials but ima post this anyway, move it to the FL section if needed)
This is mainly targeted for people that are REALLY new to ship flying or disco mod because I am aware that majority of players probably know this but anyway....

So here is a technique you can use in pretty much every ship type and can help you out if you're in a rush or power trading, I like to call it "fast docking" what this basically does is let you pretty much insta-dock so you don't have to go through any docking animations for that quick cargo trade/repair and get back to flying.

so how do we do this? well its really simple, just aim for a mooring point of a station and just go full speed into it and at the last minute hit F3 but you may not know where the mooring points are for stations, well here's a couple pics to show you where the mooring points are:

On asteroid stations they won't normally have mooring points but they will have the bar sticking out of the rock, thats what you fast-dock to on asteroid bases

hoped this helped any new players dock faster than normal.......

I added a few more quick dock points on your pictures.

On the first picture, moring points A, B, C and D are also quick docks.

On the second picture, those pillars on the station's round platform are also quick docks.

Good post btw. Nice work Smile

On the second image, when you hit anywhere on the outward projection, you can dock....atleast I do it that way, anywhere on the outward projection.

Really good idea to make thread about it!
You can use speed-docking for nearly every kind of solar, also for jumpgate and tradelane.
For a jumpgate speed-docking you can fly in cruise-speed to the Jumpgate and if you are only a few meters in front of the gate, you will look to the hole between the four arms, you can press F3. So you must not spent your time into the docking movie.

If I know somethingh, than I know that Im not knowing all.
