Before I get started, I want to let you know, I do not know how this would come out. If I sound agressive I appoligize.
I have been having this issue for a couple of weeks now. I try to Log in to a character and it would go right to the desktop. here is what I do:
-Open Launchpad
-Click on what account I want to go in
-Click launch
-Wait for the main menu to pop up (This is where I notice something different)
-Menu opens (The main menu looks different, the words are alot larger then what it was.)
- I open the multiplayer and click on my character (I click the right server btw)
- I click on my character and Flick, goes back to the desktop.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and it is driving me insane. Any and all help would be much appreciated. Please pm me just in case I don't reply right back in a couple of days.
Would you mind testing a few things for me and providing me with some answers?
1) Does disco single player work?
2) Does the normal Freelancer work in single player?
Here are some solutions that I find help when FL gets buggy:
1) I'm thinking that this will most likely solve it (as i had something similar happen to me).
Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games and delete the Folder called freelancer then test whether things are working again.
2) if that doesn't work, I'd advice removing both FL and Disco and re installing both of them.
The initial start up was larger and when I entered the Game I crashed straight to desk top.
I had a look around and found that my anti virus had quarantined a DSAce.dll file. I then told it to reinstate it and everything worked fine afterwards.
When i have been doing updates I have been switching my AV off and I haven't had a problem until then. I am not sure if the Devs/Alley has changed these files and it hasn't required a proper download when we have entered the Game.
One of the people I know in Game said that he was also experiencing a problem and when I mentioned this he was able to fix it very quickly.
We both have Norton AV installed.
I hope this is of some help.
