Every so often I will encounter a strange bug that prevents me from seeing any servers in the server list. It says that I am connecting to the global server though nothing actually appears. If I try and refresh the list or return to the main menu my game will freeze and I'll have to open up task manager and end process. I've tried restarting my game, running it as admin and running with anti-virus disabled but the only fix I've found so far is a complete restart of my computer.
To me this sounds like freelancer is clashing with something else on my computer but I don't know what that could be. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, that'd be great.
You may like to try disabling IPv6 (leaving only IPv4) enabled; Freelancer is only capable of using the latter.
Instead of restarting your PC, you might like to try resetting your modem/router (which is usually faster). This is my preferred solution for this problem - I too experience it intermittently. If you don't know how to do a soft restart of your router, it's usually found at the IP address 192.168.0.1; the login credentials, if default, will be on the router itself or in the documentation. Once logged in, you should be able to look around and find an option to restart the router.

If a router restart does the trick, then disabling IPv6 probably won't do anything. It's really only important if you're trying to host a Freelancer server (either locally or on the net).
