In this thread, I'll be talking about the turrets based on the "Type 3" Transport turrets from 4.86. I am aware that they are no longer called that, but rather than naming each individual turret, I'll just refer to their group as Type 3. These would be the house turrets and such; all of the turrets with the same stats:
580 Hull Damage
4.00 Fire Rate
800 m/s Speed / 800m Range
205 Energy Use
This results in:
4.86 Type 3 (Class 4): 2,100 HDPS, 800 Speed/Range, 550 E u/s, 2.00 Fire Rate 4.87 Type 3 (Class 4): 2,320 HDPS, 800 Speed/Range, 820 E u/s, 4.00 Fire Rate
This is insane. They've basically been nerfed, considering the enormous jump in energy consumption for only a very small DPS increase. Especially considering that fighter guns have been drastically buffed and the new versions of "Type 1", "Type 2", and "Type 4" turrets have also been significantly buffed. So, you nerfed the turrets which were already the weakest, and buffed everything else... There is really no reason for anyone to use Type 3's anymore.
Let's compare these to other turrets:
Charon (Class 4): 4,160 DPS, 600 m/s Speed, 1,098m Range, 1,160 E u/s, 2.00 Fire Rate Dulzian (Class 4): 2,100 DPS, 1,200 m/s Speed, 635m Range, 950 E u/s, 5.00 Fire Rate Heavy Flashpoint (Class 2): 2,600 DPS, 750 m/s Speed, 675m Range, 650 E u/s, 5.00 Fire Rate Flashpoint (Class 1): 2307 DPS, 750 m/s Speed, 750m Range, 408 E u/s, 8.33 Fire Rate
As you can see, the Type 3 is enormously worse than all of them. I've heard some people say "But it has good range!" No, it doesn't. It has slightly more range than Dulzians, which are enormously better, and much less range than Charons, which are also enormously better. Transport turrets are supposed to be slightly better than fighter turrets, but Type 3's are so bad that they have less DPS AND more power consumption than fighter turrets. Sure, you could say "But they're faster!"... Yeah, by 6%. Increasing their power consumption so drastically was just absurd.
I would suggest changing the Type 3 turret stats to:
2,480 HDPS, 850 Speed/Range, 760 E u/s, 4.00 Fire Rate
Even then, they would still be only slightly stronger than Dulzians while significantly slower, but at least they would be usable. They'd also still be weaker and more energy-costing than fighter turrets, but at least they wouldn't be as terrible as they are right now.
I would also like to see the variations of the turret actually be given somewhat different stats, even if the variations are miniscule.
