Pitates and Trader

Ok this i my 2 two bits
Pirates can be fun and traders can be fun but being new to the RP i have learned to look ahead at the next system and adjust my trade lanes to avoid pirates. Or If i have been pirated i will change my trade habits.
Eny good pilot would do this untill the area if not so .... costly....
i have found most Pirates in 1 system amd thats fin i can avoid them but when stop and you are trying to RP
and NPC 's and there pirate drop your shields makes demand and npc starts cutting into hull i will allways try to kill the NPc or move off . This has cost me a ship twice know o-wel it happen .
I would like to see the pirate kill the npc or let you do so.
No chance to RP when you get Hult he fires drop my sheild i stop NPC start cuting me up i use bats he drops
my shields NPC hit again .... ect... so i tray to run he drop shilds no bats left NPc kill me he gets my cargo
I start from scratch. Fun a.


One other thing i have jumped into system and have had Hult,stop, cut engine but no name who are you
yelling at . Im not going to ask becouse if its not me i don't want you to know im in system. Please CAn we add a name to the Halt , Stop , Cut engine to 0 to be clear to your intended victems .
IE: Halt {player name} or i will fire , you will die , it will cost you more and and aargg if ya want.

This was my first run in with a Pirate he said hult no name i ignored and he nearly killed me .

*finally decrypts horrid grammer and spelling* Alright, this is pointless. IF hes on your scanners, hes probably talking to you. if not, then probably not. Please proofread next time, as it makes it quite hard to read anything when you post a wall of text that doesent even make sense, WITHOUT the rambling nature. This is not meant to be offencive, but please put some more effort into posting, if you REALLY want somthing to be read, and even actually understood.

First of all, if you use shieldbatteries and keep moving then OBVIOUSLY a pirate will drop your shields again. We do that so that if you start fighting back (or we get bored asking you to pay) we can kill you quickly with torpedoes.

As far as the name thing goes, I think if the pirate drops your shields then it's a fair bet he's talking to you. Even if they did say your name in their demand, they would still drop your shields - it's just what we do.

Well, for a start, I have to say that it isn't a pirate's job to make you feel comfortable. If we made you feel comfortable, then we wouldn't be doing our job very well. Honestly, if you want the NPCs to stop shooting at you, pay the man and get on with it.

Secondly, if we don't drop your shields and take a while to type, a lot of people take advantage of that, and they simply won't stop unless Pirates show them that we mean business. Again, if we wanted to make you comfortable, we'd be playing Police or Military.

I'm not one to pass up an RP debate about what I am doing on my pirate, but, simply put, if you don't like the way you're pirated, tough luck, because pirates aren't there to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, we're there to do business, and sometimes that means making you uncomfortable so you'll pay.

I don't have any beefs with pirates for say but for those who like to "soften you up" before demanding a toll/tax, some of you don't know when to stop. Two did that to different profiles of mine. Had I not used bots, I would be dead and the pirate gets nothing, in that case, a hold of scrap metal. The other, he went too far and got just that, a load of scrap metal and some food rats.

My feeling is simple. If you confront me with alot more fire power than I have, you think I'm going to resist? Try demanding the tax FIRST, you might get better results.

Max, just know where a bulk of the pirates hang out and avoid them although there will be times that one is just "there."

I think actual piracy code is quite clear enough and doesnt need any more complication.

Unless you meant something about potatoes. "Pitate" sounds awfully like how northern french canadians says "potatoes".
