Can you show me the thread in this Rules section listing IDs based on which one is generic and which one isn't? Of course without insulting anyone, please.

Or you can prove me wrong by giving evidence against my statement.

We both come short of any grounds for that, but lets be honest here, Junkers and Zoners are factions with lore, stations and diplomacy behind them. Freelancer ID, Miner ID and Pirate ID ( plus SRPable Researcher ID ) have none of the previous, because they represent one person, not a faction.

And I still believe there should be no faction named Zoners. Just Freelancer IDed people living outside houses with Freeports being Freelancer IFFed.

Wiki is edited by people. It's good source of information on the mod itself but not the server we play in with ruleset found on these forums. ID definitions there are nothing else but subjective opinion on some user who decided to make such categories.

Gonna be honest, I'm not entirely sure why this matters besides potentially a bit of chestpounding about being nongeneric. The only rules about nongeneric ID's really don't matter in this case because it's a freelancer group. I would also assume the reason it's considered generic, if it is is because it's based off of a generic ID.

Firstly, thank you to everyone that replied. This really helps.
From all that we discussed so far, the general combined idea is that generic ID/Faction is:

-not unified faction
-not an offical faction
-has no NPCs
-Can modulate to fit what it is doing. very bendable

-Basic ID sold throughout sirius
-represents a character not aligned to specific faction
-no restrictions to ZOI, but there are non-generic factions that over-ride this.

And to answer Impy really quick:

It is important for me becasue I need more evidence to submit to Admins on a subject pertaining a faction request.
AFC is not a freelancer group as well. It used the Freelancer ID becasue it had no other ID to choose from. After a long discussion with one of the Admins they basically suggested to go with that to move forwards. So even though it is based off of a generic ID, it has already been manipulated to not be based off it due to the tech nerfs (i hope), rep hacks, and additional line to it's ID. We still use the Freelancer IFF only becasue we had before asked for our own but it was rejected since it would affect all other servers as well and the devs dont want to add AFC NPCs flying around everywhere. Which is cool...

The ID lines are similar to the FL ID that was used before only becasue they make sense for the Faction's style of play as well, as it should be. I put a lot of thought into the lines seeing what could be changed or what not.... but they seem to all work well. Because of this we kept them.

Anyway i guess it is something like:

A generic ID is a basic ID that allows for manipulation of rep and freedom/flexibility to represent a character that is not affiliated with any existing faction.
