- New entry: 31st of March, 823 A.S.

After more than two years of absence, I finally got the chance to visit Malta. I almost forgot what happiness is, but was reminded today. Seeing the orange planet made me forget everything, and even though it was a very brief moment, the overwhelming joy was coursing through my veins. I was welcomed by an individual named Mendes - the commander of a Storta that was flying under the Cross colors. After a short conversation, he informed me to contact a certain someone going by the name Harry Callahan. Apparently, there is something I could assist with. Shortly after, Inquisitor Espinoza appeared as well. A rather intriguing persona. She updated me on the current situation within the Maltese society - it is worse than I expected.

Seems like the Ghosts are back, trying to stage another civil war. Considering who the current administrator is, I wouldn't be too surprised, if not for the fact that she might be working in correlation with the Contari family. Even though I was going to give Casta the benefit of the doubt, it seems like she is back to her old ways. I offered Espinoza my assistance and it seems like I'll be hearing from her again, when the time is right. I should get in touch with Callahan, see who he is and what I can help with.

[+]Flight Logs
Stefan.Mortensen: Buongiorno, Cross.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Good day to you, pilot.
Stefan.Mortensen: It has been years since my last time on Malta. It's still as beautiful as it used to be.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: It will always be so. What brings you to our little slice of home?
Stefan.Mortensen: Used to be my home too. Curiosity, I guess.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: You'll have to forgive me, your voice is unfamiliar. How long ago are we speaking of?
Stefan.Mortensen: Shortly after the 101st Jameson era, which was a very long time ago.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Well before my time involved in Maltese politics for certain, then.
Stefan.Mortensen: I understand that the Ghosts are no longer the governing body of Malta?
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Nominally we are, the inquisitors and Council of the Crimson Cross, though the Council of Dons still exists.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: The 101st seem to have withdrawn from most Maltese concerns.
Stefan.Mortensen: So I've heard. How are things around here?
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Quiet, for the most part.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's... Interesting.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Every so often there is an incursion by some enemy of ours or another, but generally there isn't much worth mention.
Stefan.Mortensen: Used to be the other way around back in my time here. Times change, I suppose.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Our own concerns have turned inward for the time being, and Cross battlefleets stay close to home.
Stefan.Mortensen: These pilots really dislike me. Seems like my name was removed from the registry after my departure.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: It would seem that way. I apologize for their behavior, but they won't listen if I try to call them off.
Stefan.Mortensen: I understand. Nonetheless, I'd like to work on fixing the issue.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: We could always use another ally, particularly one with your...connections.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's good to hear. I've spent a lot of time flying around Sirius. There's almost no place where I haven't been.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Well, if you do want to help out, I have just the thing.
Stefan.Mortensen: *Raises an eyebrow* Per favore, do tell.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Much of our efforts have been focused on research and development.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's understandable.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Send a message to Harry Callahan on the neural net...he would be most interested to meet you.
Stefan.Mortensen: *Starts typing at the console* Henry Callahan. Got it.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Bridge: Problem, Mendes?
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Ah, Inquisitor.
Stefan.Mortensen: Buongiorno, Inquisitor.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Ciao signore..... I'm not sure we're acquainted
Stefan.Mortensen: Stefan Mortensen. Maltese by origin. Used to work for the Ghosts a long time ago.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Quite.. What brings you here?
Stefan.Mortensen: As I already told your associate, it was mostly curiosity.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Desire to venture home once more then?
Stefan.Mortensen: Indeed. The sight of Malta does bring me joy.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: That makes two of us. Forgive me but with whom are you affiliated with now?
Stefan.Mortensen: Nobody. I work alone. Well, most of the time, that is. There are some rather interesting individuals throughout Sirius.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Fair enough. So, whats this mention of Callahan?
Stefan.Mortensen: Apparently, it's a name I should be looking for if I wanted to help the Cross with something.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: I brought Callahan up because of our current focus on research and development...
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: And anyone with more 'interesting' traits would be best served speaking to him first.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: That was the thought process, anyway.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Ah yes. Ibiza - Well Mendes now that you're done with your sulking station-side I suppose I should read you into that whole situation.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Sulking....? Quite.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Anyway; Signore Mortensen I take it you've heard of your former Ghost associates more recent... "exploits", yes?
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm not entierly up to date. The only thing I know is that the Ghosts have pulled back into their lair.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Far from it. Casta has been very vocal in stirring up sedition for no adequate reason.
Stefan.Mortensen: Casta... *Sighs*
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Irregardless: I find it refreshing to know there are still ones of your order, former or otherwise, that can remain level headed.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: By your reaction I take it you're... not a fan?
Stefan.Mortensen: Not by a long shot.
Stefan.Mortensen: And even though I haven't dealt with her personally, I've heard a lot of disturbing things about her and how she operates.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Considering she's done her best to incite a second civil war - I'm inclined to agree with you on.. well disagreeing.
Stefan.Mortensen: Another civil war?
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Together with members of the now defunct Contari Lance, yes.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Her idea. Not mine. We wanted to be cordial. She made it impossible by throwing around wild accusations as to my origins within Maltese society, of all things.
Stefan.Mortensen: Wait, what? She's working with the Lance?
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Was, maybe still is. Who knows?
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: A lot of very silly things have happened.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Desperation makes for strange bedfellows.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: This is exactly why my disposition towards both parties at this time is less than favorable.
Stefan.Mortensen: It's worse than I thought.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: But again, at least you so far seem agreeable. I am thankful for that.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: It reminds me of when we got along with the Ghosts.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh you did? What happened?
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Not sure. I worked with Aerelm and other ghosts on occasion, the Ghosts disappeared for a while then Casta came out of nowhere and stirried up sedition on a scale worthy of a tirade.
Stefan.Mortensen: Of course she did. Well, when it comes to Casta, you've got my full support.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Glad to hear it. I'll be sure to keep you in mind in future then.
Stefan.Mortensen: That would be wise.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Away from that pitiful subject; I've heard little of why you desired to leave - Not at all related to the Casta issue I take it?
Stefan.Mortensen: Casta had nothing to do with it. It wasn't my decision really. The higher forces were clear in their intentions.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Oh? Some flight of fancy or work just led you astray from the homeworld?
Stefan.Mortensen: You could say it was work, si.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Ah.. I believe I take your meaning properly then.
Stefan.Mortensen: I hope you do.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Well - tis not my place to question you any further on the subject then.
Stefan.Mortensen: Grazie. I'd like to keep most of what happened to myself, for now. You'll know everything when the time comes.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Fully understood. I would expect nothing less.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Well as it happens I could use another contact with your uh.. "skillset" lets call it. Nothing pressing at the moment but in the future there could be a need for your input.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: I don't suppose that would be something you would be interested in?
Stefan.Mortensen: On the contrary - I'd like to be involved. Whatever you need, contact me and we'll sort it out.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: I'll keep that in mind then. As I said, nothing presently but in future there may very well be.
Stefan.Mortensen: Whenever the time comes. I don't plan on straying too far away.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Anyway, I'm needed Valetta-side. I'll let you and Mendes here resume your talk.
|+|-MNS-Mgarr: Erika: Walk safely in the light, signore Mortensen.
Stefan.Mortensen: You too. I'm afraid I'll have to get going myself. I'll make sure to contact Callahan.
|+|-MNS-Espadarte: Very well. Welcome back to Malta, signor Mortensen.
Stefan.Mortensen: Grazie, signore Mendes.

The Cross is still very cryptic about what they are up to. Contacting Callahan didn't do anything but bring up more questions. By now, I should know better than to engage in random issues that Maltese societies have, but I just can't help it. This Callahan persona is ever more secretive about what the Cross is trying to achieve than Espinoza was - hopefully with a good reason. Despite the obvious better choice of not working with such a shadowy organization, I'm going to have to if I ever want to set foot on Malta again, as opposed to watching it from the orbit, full of regret. I wasn't sure what to think of the Cross, so I figured I'd contact Venkman and see if he knows anything. Venkman, still alive and kicking - certainly an unexpected outcome. Nevertheless, he proved somewhat helpful, and even though he had no vital information on Espinoza or Callahan, he assured me that the Cross has never crossed anyone. Ugh, no pun intended. My only choice for now is to wait for them to say the word, so I can finally see what the hell is going on.

I decided to pay a visit to Delta a couple of days ago. Interestingly enough, I ran into someone that I briefly met back in Rheinland. Katherine Snow is the name. She seems to be tied to Hellfire Legion. I never dealt with any of their operatives in the past so this is an opportunity I'm not going to miss. Turns out, we agree on a lot of things. There's something about her that I haven't seen in a long time, though I can't tell what it is yet. I dropped her a message to call me when she is about to leave the edge worlds. Now that I think of it, it was a little embarrassing, but, if I go on another trip around Sirius by myself, I'm probably going to lose it. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess.

The last couple of days were eventful to say the least. While waiting for Katherine near the Freeport, I met a strange woman. Seeing someone carry cardamine around Delta was certainly unexpected. Aside from that, there was an annoying self-proclaimed researcher hell bent on sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. By the time Katherine arrived, it got to the point where the woman I previously met grabbed her bomber and blew up the guy's transport. His trigger-happy friend in a Core gunboat wasn't too happy about it, but we managed to take him out with some teamwork. I still don't know the woman's name but I should definitely keep an eye on her as she might prove a valuable asset in the future.

[+]Flight Logs
Stefan.Mortensen: Hello there.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Hello, sir.
Stefan.Mortensen: It's surprisingly quiet around here.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Quite so, sir. Yesterday was quite the commotion around these parts.
Stefan.Mortensen: Per favore, don't call me sir.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *Nods in agreement* As you say. I was raised this way. Respect and such.
Stefan.Mortensen: I understand. Don't worry about it. Just makes me feel older than I actually am.
Stefan.Mortensen: Anyways, what brings you to the edge worlds?
"Wiegenlied": ?: I am no longer welcome in Rheinland. I fled here, seeking refuge, which I found.
Stefan.Mortensen: I couldn't help but notice some cardamine in your cargo hold. Is that for your personal use?
"Wiegenlied": ?: It is. I've been bound to it for a long time. The liquid variant I keep somewhere more safe. Can't have the Core steal it.
Stefan.Mortensen: Yeah, the Core likes to put their nose in everybody's business.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *sneers* Children playing cops and robbers.
Stefan.Mortensen: How did you become bound to cardamine, if you don't mind me asking? Is is rare that a Rheinlander has any contact with it.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *pauses* Through the wrong kind of friends, mostly. Was born on Nuremberg. It's the most uncivliized place you can imagine.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Did some bad things in my youth. This one is bound to me now, yet I don't resent it.
Stefan.Mortensen: No reason to. It has more positives than negatives, at least from my perspective.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Who are you?
Stefan.Mortensen: I was born on Malta, spent most of my life there. Work forced me to leave it, unfortunately.
"Wiegenlied": ?: The orange planet. Beautiful, isn't it?
Stefan.Mortensen: Indeed it is.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: What is this?
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***..Incoming another -void-***
"Wiegenlied": ?: Peace. There's someone here now.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Peacefull...targets?
Stefan.Mortensen: Hello there, stranger.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Nomads! Please, let me approach a bit...
Stefan.Mortensen: So, I trust you've visited Malta yourself?
"Wiegenlied": ?: I did. Best way to get Cardamine is from the source.
Stefan.Mortensen: Can't argue with that.
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***-Cardamine- is 'ours'***
"Wiegenlied": ?: I know, spirit. It makes us like you. Or rather, prepares us to be with you.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Nomad, can you recognize my script?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Also my voice?
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***...what are 'Yours' doing (?)...***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Im trying to... How can I explain an alien my intentions? Please, stay around.
"Wiegenlied": ?: You don't have to explain anything, fool. They know.
Stefan.Mortensen: Try using words, you might get surprised.
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'I' think that am known...***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Im not trying to explain anything, you fool here. I need him.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *laugh* Who'd need you, though?
Madze.Nabucodonosor: *** -Humans- are -strange-***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: please, thats not in your incumbence, do your business.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *takes out a data pad and begins typing*
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, it is slowly getting a bit crowded here.
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***oh....another -One-***
"Wiegenlied": ?: Indeed. And the Core is also here.
Stefan.Mortensen: Which means something bad is about to happen.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Isnt fools! dont need always to use the violence. Please Core, be quiet.
Bin.exe: Ok
Stefan.Mortensen: I wasn't planning to. I am just stating what happens when the Core is present. You would also be wise to watch your tone when you're speaking to me.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Insolence is rampant in these parts, I'm afraid.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: *focus his attention in the nomad, again
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Stefan, could you describe me how do you feel in this moment?
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***this -one- gain -time-..***
Stefan.Mortensen: Why do you need to know how I feel?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: I just... need this information.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Oh, sure! may i say who we are?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: sorry about that.
Stefan.Mortensen: And out of all these people you ask me how I feel?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Mithranian Research Institute are exilies scientists which focus their study in nomads and wilde pilots.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: thats why I need your contribution...
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm not following. Are you trying to imply something?
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'Ours' see only a -human- into 'yours'***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: No!
"Wiegenlied": ?: *tilts her head* Insolent fool. Show some respect in the presence of a spirit!
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: we just need to know who you are.
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm your average explorer.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: please, let me ask you these questions. Wouldnt take long of your infinite time of living.
Stefan.Mortensen: I fly around Sirius without much purpose.
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'yours' are too -curoius-***
Stefan.Mortensen: Infinite time of living? Are you high?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Same as you, nomad!
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'yours' knew enough yet (!)***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: the creators of "these" nomads were mostly inmortal people... That's our theory.
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'Yours' stole 'Ours' some -technology-***
Stefan.Mortensen: You think I'm immortal? *Bursts out of laughing*
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'Yours' knew enough yet***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Not you, but this nomad...
Madze.Nabucodonosor: ***'yours' can't know about 'me'***
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: we will see.

-Twenty minutes later-

Stefan.Mortensen: Oh, hello again.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Before you go: Are these Zoners still there?
Stefan.Mortensen: There's one here.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Goddamnit! Okay, not going there. He makes my blood boil.
Stefan.Mortensen: Tell me about it.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Greetings. You wanna have a talk?
"Wiegenlied": ?: *screams* Go /away/!
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm waiting for someone.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: oh so you wanna use your weapons!
Stefan.Mortensen: You definitely like jumping to conclusions, don't you?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: As a scientist, yes, sure.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Have you ever been, well, sued for harassing people? If you're from the colonies, that is.
Stefan.Mortensen: As a scientist, aren't you supposed to review all the facts before making up your opinion?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Yes! but im not into a deeper investigation, I'm just fleeing over here, at the moment.
Stefan.Mortensen: Fleeing? I wonder why.
Stefan.Mortensen: There she is. Hey Katherine.
Katherine.Snow: Hey hey.
Stefan.Mortensen: How are you doing?
Katherine.Snow: Fine, could be better.
"Wiegenlied": ?: Researcher: I will get a bomber and blow you up if you don't stop talking soon.
Stefan.Mortensen: Seems like you managed to piss somebody off, Zoner.
Katherine.Snow: *grins*
"Wiegenlied": ?: Like, can't you take a hint?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Im not a zoner... again!
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, whoever it is that you are then.
"Wiegenlied": ?: *closes her eyes, trying to speak steadily* I hardly care. Now go.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Also scientists dont use to say...go! kill him! No no...we dont want blood...
Katherine.Snow: Poooooor thing aren't you?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Not really
"Wiegenlied": ?: Alright; that's it. I'll be back.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Hello!
Stefan.Mortensen: This is bound to get interesting.
Bin.exe: Hello
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: May i ask what are you doing around?
Katherine.Snow: Eating cookies.
Stefan.Mortensen: That.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Oh! Cookies!
Katherine.Snow: I am mean, so I won't share them with you.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: No worries about that *smile* im not starving
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Can i ask you something, Stefan?
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh come on, not again. What is it?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: would be short, dont worry
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm not worried, just annoyed.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: sorry about that
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: im interested in what were you doing near this nomad...
Stefan.Mortensen: Nothing in particular. It came to me, for whatever reason.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: did he ...tryed to do to you, something?
Stefan.Mortensen: Not really, no.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: thats why i tryed to ask you how do you feel
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: most nomads uses some kind of "telechinesys" to get into an human head...
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Most of them, who survived, explained us that they saw... nomad systems. A sun. Purple space...
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, nobody has ever been in my head, so...
Katherine.Snow: Only I was in his head.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: you never know that.
Spicerunner: ?: Alright. You, Zoner. You have disgraced the name of the Spirits! I demand a tithe of 30 million to absolve you of your evil!
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: this outcast ...new joiner!
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Im not a zoner.
Bin.exe: What? 30 Million?
Stefan.Mortensen: So it begins. *Raises an eyebrow and starts rubbing hands*
Spicerunner: ?: And I don't care. Will you pay to save your soul?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: save my sould...from what?
Bin.exe: Uhm....No
Spicerunner: ?: From the holy fire that you'll die in rather soon.
Eliza.Valdez: I wonder if this has any connection with the one that left?
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: yes, maybe.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: lets see, Outcast...
Stefan.Mortensen: Could be. She said she was about to grab her bomber.
Katherine.Snow: *She smirks*
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Nomads arent that kind of spirit of what are you talking about.
Spicerunner: ?: I told you I was on Malta.
Eliza.Valdez: So first an Rheinwehr identification, now an Outcast one.
Eliza.Valdez: Interesting.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: Nomads are unknown ...for all
Spicerunner: ?: Your words are meaningless Zoner. You have thirty seconds.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: you will never know when they will decide to attack you.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: thats why we need to know more about them
Spicerunner: ?: Twenty.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: to ensure all the systems around.
Spicerunner: ?: Ten.
Katherine.Snow: Oooooooold Delta, eh.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: you will be very wrong with this movement.
Eliza.Valdez: This will end interestingly.
Spicerunner: ?: Your time is up. Good bye.
Stefan.Mortensen: Grab the popcorn.
Katherine.Snow: That Core guy...
Stefan.Mortensen: Thinking about getting rid of him.
Katherine.Snow: Maybe we could remove him, what do you think?
Stefan.Mortensen: Si, let's do it.
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: dont even touch him.
Stefan.Mortensen: Or else?
Katherine.Snow: Core guy... You are being hunted... NAO
|MRI|-LV-Odissey: Paul: FareweA
Death: |MRI|-LV-Odissey suffered a self-inflicted catastrophic decompression.
Spicerunner: ?: Coward...
Spicerunner: ?: Gonna help you with that Core dude.
Katherine.Snow: I need the last shot.
Spicerunner: ?: You'll get it.
Spicerunner: ?: Do you quiver yet?
Stefan.Mortensen: Doubt he's smart enough.
Spicerunner: ?: Get him.
Stefan.Mortensen: There we go.
Death: Bin.exe was put out of action by Katherine.Snow (Gun).
Spicerunner: ?: And that was that.
Spicerunner: ?: *sighs, relaxing into her seat* So unnecessary. He should've just left.
Katherine.Snow: That's right.
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, I think I've satisfied my urge to shoot stuff for now.
Katherine.Snow: Yeah, exactly.
Spicerunner: ?: Waste of my missiles, the first one.
Spicerunner: ?: Anyways, I take it you have somewhere to go?
Spicerunner: ?: Like, I'll go enjoy the silence now.
Stefan.Mortensen: Snow?
Katherine.Snow: Hm?
Stefan.Mortensen: Weren't we supposed to go somewhere?
Katherine.Snow: I need to check Dublin and then through Edinburgh I would fly to Taus.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's fine with me.
Spicerunner: ?: Be safe, then.
Katherine.Snow: You too.
Stefan.Mortensen: You too.
After that, Katherine and I traveled all the way to Tau thirty-seven. Apparently, her sister is the administrator of the Freeport ten. We had a breakfast this morning after which I decided to go back to Delta. Interestingly enough, earlier today, I ran into another ship carrying cardamine. The guy's name is Geoff Enfield and he works for the Rheinland's intelligence agency, the Buro. We had an extensive chat and got to know each other, exchanging our life stories in the process. His will to cooperate with the masters didn't go by me unnoticed. Apparently, he's putting his head on the chopping block by helping one of our agents stay undercover within Buro, which many people wouldn't do in their right mind. He's got contacts all around Sirius and I should probably keep him in mind if I ever run into any obstacles.

[+]Flight Logs
"Retribution": ?: Hey... Man. Want the rest of this?
Stefan.Mortensen: Another one carrying cardamine around, boy is there an unusual amount of people doing so around here.
"Retribution": ?: I can't take the rest of this, I'll get done on a narcotics check.
Stefan.Mortensen: Narcotics check? *Raises an eyebrow*
"Retribution": ?; Freekin guys at the agency.
"Retribution": ?: BReathed in the stuff on Malta but hey...
"Retribution": ?: Why not try it direct instead of it diluted in the air.
"Retribution": ?: Its more or less.
"Retribution": ?: Its just stronger.
"Retribution": ?: You want it or not?
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, if you're really keen on getting rid of it, I guess I could take it.
Stefan.Mortensen: Thanks, I guess.
Stefan.Mortensen: Anyways, what brings you here?
"Retribution": ?: Well... I was going to head to Alpha direct, but the agency would of checked the black box.
"Retribution": ?: I can scramble the transmissions, but the tracker? No.
Stefan.Mortensen: What is that agency that you keep mentioning?
"Retribution": ?: Anyway, hoping I could find someone such as... Leere to talk to.
"Retribution": ?: Thats what I was about to say.
"Retribution": ?: You don't mind like... Moving away from here right?
Stefan.Mortensen: Sure, you never know when one of those arrogant Core bastards decides to show up.
"Retribution": ?: Or order.
Stefan.Mortensen: I can handle Order much easier than Core.
"Retribution": ?: Damn... Now its starting to wear off...
"Retribution": ?: Shouldn't take too much.
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, you either take as much as necessary or you die.
Stefan.Mortensen: Not really much of a choice.
"Retribution": ?: Here we are... Quiet.
"Retribution": ?: Right so...
"Retribution": ?: You want my name? Title or something?
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, you know mine so I guess it wouldn't hurt to know yours.
"Retribution": ?: Mates just Call me Geoff, or Mr Enfield if we're having a formal meeting.
"Retribution": ?: Or if you're part of my division, its Kommissaroberant Enfield.
Stefan.Mortensen: Very well, Mister Enfield.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, the agency is the Buro der Marinesintelligence.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh, a Rheinlander?
"Retribution": Enfield: Nah man, I'm far from a Rheinlander.
"Retribution": Enfield: Halway a distance from Human actually physically.
Stefan.Mortensen: Mhm, that's interesting.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, out here to pick up a sample of Cardamine, see what it was like.
"Retribution": Enfield: Turns out its a gas.
Stefan.Mortensen: What did you expect?
"Retribution": Enfield: Not a powder, quite more potent than i originally thought.
"Retribution": Enfield: I thought it was a coarse powder.
Stefan.Mortensen: Nah, this is much more convinient.
"Retribution": Enfield: Hold on...
"Retribution": Enfield: Somethings spooking me.
"Retribution": Enfield: Just a chill.
"Retribution": Enfield: Didn't we come here to be quiet and out of the Order's and Core's way?
Stefan.Mortensen: I believe so, why?
"Retribution": Enfield: I just caught a glimps of a ship.
Stefan.Mortensen: Might be your imagination, or faulty scanners. There's a lot of anomalies that can mess with you around here.
"Retribution": Enfield: Especially that thing.
"Retribution": Enfield: Been in there once...
"Retribution": Enfield: Hurt like hell...
"Retribution": Enfield: My fiancee went in.
"Retribution": Enfield: Said she couldn't hear anything, which isn't a suprise.
Stefan.Mortensen: Aaand?
Stefan.Mortensen: What happened to her?
"Retribution": Enfield: She just turned around and said that the place gave her the spooks.
Stefan.Mortensen: It can be intimidating if you're not used to it.
"Retribution": Enfield: Not that, trust me.. I'm used to it.
"Retribution": Enfield: Just... Too many voices.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh, I understand.
"Retribution": Enfield: So many telling me to... "Clear off."
"Retribution": Enfield: Did what they wanted.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: I was -enjoying- it.
Stefan.Mortensen: Happens.
Joshua.Hunt: Oh.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: *drops it into the drawer*
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: SHIE
Stefan.Mortensen: Seems like we've got some company.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: *looks up*
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oh.
Stefan.Mortensen: Hello there.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: SHIE.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Hello.
"Retribution": Enfield: So you're here to look at this thing too?
"Retribution": Enfield: Christ.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: There are many things to be looking at.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Such as this caramal bar. *deviously grins*
"Retribution": Enfield: I'd be looking at my fiancees ass if it wasn't for the research I'm conducting.
Stefan.Mortensen: We all make choices.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Well, of course.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, i was telling this... Delightful person Stefan, how much of a... well.. Hell hole it is through there.
"Retribution": Enfield: Ever felt your brain was frying itself?
"Retribution": Enfield: Go into that place.
Stefan.Mortensen: You'd be surprised.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: I'm aware.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Buuut, other things take priority. *she picks up the piece and briefly eats it*
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oh man - that's so good. MMM.
"Retribution": Enfield: You don't mind leaving us in peace...?
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: *sliding down her chair, the crystal emitting out an echo* ***...(joy)...***
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: There's no such thing as peace in the Omicrons, sorry.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oh hey - that's the floor.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Pressing on.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: *jumps up, snapping her fingers with her neural glove*
Stefan.Mortensen: Ever been to Taus? Omicrons are nothing compared to those.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Frequently.
Joshua.Hunt: I was living in them for a few weeks.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: *looks at the crystal on the desk
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: *then towards the bar*
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: *Looking back and forth quickly*
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oh.
Stefan.Mortensen: Been there yesterday, still a warzone.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oohhhh.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: ... whoops.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: I saw you trying to pull a sneaky scan, mmmhmm.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: *chuckles at something*
Stefan.Mortensen: Geoff, interested in going somewhere else? This isn't as quiet as I was hoping for.
"Retribution": Enfield: Yeah...
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Alright. I'll stop pestering the people, heh.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh well, that works too.
Stefan.Mortensen: Stay out of trouble.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Oh, be sure to not run into trouble. If you do, call me, I'll double the trouble.
A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Raven: Anyway. Back to molesting that sweet-sweet-bar.
Stefan.Mortensen: Anyways, tell me about that Leere individual. I heard that name yesterday as well.
"Retribution": Enfield: She's probably rocking with the... *He nods towards the alien gate.*
"Retribution": Enfield: Saw some equipment which i know of heart is made by them.
Stefan.Mortensen: Mhm...
"Retribution": Enfield: You got any quarrels with them?
Stefan.Mortensen: Quite the opposite of that.
"Retribution": Enfield: Good friends?
Stefan.Mortensen: You could say that, though "friends" might be overstating it.
"Retribution": Enfield: Mutual agreement.
"Retribution": Enfield: Riiight~
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, I am Maltese so I never really had any problems with them.
"Retribution": Enfield: Mhmm, what you think about the Cross right now?
Stefan.Mortensen: Ran into a couple of them recently. Unfortunately, I don't have enough information on them to make up my mind.
"Retribution": Enfield: I'll be fair, they're good people when they're not being fanatics about the Nomads.
Stefan.Mortensen: However, apparently, they will require my input with something soon, so that's an opportunity.
"Retribution": Enfield: Me? Lets just say... I just like seeing and talking to them.
"Retribution": Enfield: *chuckles* Reminds me of that time in the Sigmas with one of them.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, I used to do a few jobs for them.
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, working with them might get me access to Malta again.
"Retribution": Enfield: Got kicked out?
Stefan.Mortensen: Had to leave, my name was deleted from the registry, apparently.
"Retribution": Enfield: Which one?
Stefan.Mortensen: The one of people who are not to be shot on sight by the Ghosts.
"Retribution": Enfield: Ghosts of Ragritz?
Stefan.Mortensen: Anyways, can't really blame them as I was gone for approximately two years. Si, Ghosts of Razgriz.
"Retribution": Enfield: Castra's ego was like.... "Woosh~!"
"Retribution": Enfield: They came back for a short time before they vanished.
Stefan.Mortensen: So I've heard.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, so...
"Retribution": Enfield: What about the Nomads, you hoping to do something for them?
"Retribution": Enfield: That would open the doors... Very... Very quickly
Stefan.Mortensen: That's the only thing I've been doing since I left Malta, and the reason I did.
"Retribution": Enfield: Oh so... You're...?
"Retribution": Enfield: *He taps his chest.*
Stefan.Mortensen: Nah, not really, assuming I know what you're thinking.
"Retribution": Enfield: Pretty much what you're thinking yes.
Stefan.Mortensen: Nope.
"Retribution": Enfield: Alright then...
"Retribution": Enfield: You know its hard to "Hide someone who IS" inside your own agency?
Stefan.Mortensen: I don't even want to start guessing.
"Retribution": Enfield: Yeah, your friends have got someone else in there, and since I'm higher up, its my job to make sure they don't find it
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, assuming the agency hasn't figured it out yet, seems like you're pulling hell of a good job.
"Retribution": Enfield: Not really, I've put my own ass on the line instead.
"Retribution": Enfield: But hell, anything to get out in a least peices as possible, and a fair amount of tech.
Stefan.Mortensen: You seem very determined to protect the individual in question. Why is that?
"Retribution": Enfield: Thats my ticket to...
"Retribution": Enfield: Well... A nice conversation with them in the future.
"Retribution": Enfield: I enjoyed those.
"Retribution": Enfield: But now its all... Its just faded.
Stefan.Mortensen: Gotta work for it, nothing comes free.
"Retribution": Enfield: I wouldn't mind also NOT being shot at.
"Retribution": Enfield: For the rest of the time i got left.
"Retribution": Enfield: I'm not having kids so I won't spew out anything more dangerous than I am.
Stefan.Mortensen: At least you're not getting shot by your agency, yet.
"Retribution": Enfield: Thats... Soon to change.
"Retribution": Enfield: Once i complete a certain thing for them.
"Retribution": Enfield: Well... lets say all hell WILL break loose.
Stefan.Mortensen: I'd be happy to help out of needed.
"Retribution": Enfield: Already prepared a contingency plan.
Stefan.Mortensen: Please tell me you have a plan B.
"Retribution": Enfield: Yes, even a C, but i'll let you know if i need a, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L-M-N-O-P.
Stefan.Mortensen: Make sure you do.
"Retribution": Enfield: That woman on the inside is after some information on a possible weapon being built.
"Retribution": Enfield: Not by the agency.
"Retribution": Enfield: But by those people who decided to interrupt our nice conversation.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's... disturbing.
"Retribution": Enfield: Decided to rip a singularity device from the Nomads.
Stefan.Mortensen: Just listening to that cruiser commander made me cringe. Who knows what they're up to.
"Retribution": Enfield: Apparently they got some kind of functioning prototype.
"Retribution": Enfield: They keep "Peacefully" approaching me asking about if i'm going to return to work with him.
"Retribution": Enfield: I tell him I'm against making those kind of weapons that could destroy the universe.
"Retribution": Enfield: But-
"Retribution": Enfield: In reality.
"Retribution": Enfield: I just feel happier working for the Nomads than against them.
"Retribution": Enfield: Call it... A crazy feeling.
Stefan.Mortensen: I second that.
"Retribution": Enfield: I don't know... It just... Makes me feel, so much more...
"Retribution": Enfield: Alive, for a dead man.
Stefan.Mortensen: You're not dead yet.
"Retribution": Enfield: I know what date I'm going to die.
Stefan.Mortensen: I somehow doubt that.
"Retribution": Enfield: Not really.
Stefan.Mortensen: You may think you know.
"Retribution": Enfield: Its a very... VERY good estimate.
Stefan.Mortensen: Spend enough time risking your ass like I did, and you'll stop estimating your death.
Stefan.Mortensen: People can really surprise themselves when in desperation.
"Retribution": Enfield: Just move on with the next day I guess.
"Retribution": Enfield: No its just...
"Retribution": Enfield: When my wife dies... I die.
"Retribution": Enfield: Call it an agreement.
"Retribution": Enfield: Fiancee*, I call her my wife... But hey.
Stefan.Mortensen: And how would you know when your fiancee is going to die?
"Retribution": Enfield: She's an AI.
Stefan.Mortensen: Ohhhh.
"Retribution": Enfield: Best predicted life span is around 18 years with minimal neural tissue degredation.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh come on, you work for an intelligence agency, I'm sure you can come up with a way to preserve it.
"Retribution": Enfield: No, its different.
Stefan.Mortensen: Sorry, her, not it.
"Retribution": Enfield: Its fine, people take time.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway, we said we weren't going to change it.
"Retribution": Enfield: We agreed we'd be useless and unhappy without the other, and that...
"Retribution": Enfield: Going elderly isn't an option.
"Retribution": Enfield: No fun in it.
"Retribution": Enfield: So we decided... Die together.
Stefan.Mortensen: I guess you have a point there.
"Retribution": Enfield: Romantic... Is it not?
Stefan.Mortensen: I wouldn't know anything about romance, but if you say so.
"Retribution": Enfield: But since we're not prologing it, we might aswell cram every bit of excitement we can into it.
"Retribution": Enfield: I mean, we've already... Met with...
"Retribution": Enfield: Golanskis wife...
"Retribution": Enfield: *He chuckles* She's cool, wouldn't bother with her, nice woman.
"Retribution": Enfield: I do...
"Retribution": Enfield: I got ex-order agents, ex-Shogun's, lane hackers, Maltese, GC's, and...
"Retribution": Enfield: Federal police.
"Retribution": Enfield: And maybe...
"Retribution": Enfield: Maybe...
"Retribution": Enfield: No...
"Retribution": Enfield: Thats it.
Stefan.Mortensen: *Raises an eyebrow* Maybe?
Stefan.Mortensen: Whatever it is, you can say it.
Stefan.Mortensen: We practically exchanged our life stories, no point in getting shy now.
"Retribution": Enfield: I was going to concider one of the VWA, but i think shooting eachother on a regular basis isn't a reason.
"Retribution": Enfield: Oh... And not forgetting your spooky neighbourhood...
"Retribution": Enfield: Right-
"Retribution": Enfield: Sorry.
Stefan.Mortensen: Mhm...
"Retribution": Enfield: Feel a bit stupid calling them "Infectees."
Stefan.Mortensen: Yeah it feels weird.
"Retribution": Enfield: What do you call them, because I'm not a religious fanatic thats going to call them "Enlightened."
Stefan.Mortensen: I don't really use a general term for them, I'm more of a case-by-case basis guy.
"Retribution": Enfield: Pretty much, Infectees for the people who hate, enlightened for the people who worship them.
Stefan.Mortensen: Hate, or uncapable of understanding.
"Retribution": Enfield: Or that.
Stefan.Mortensen: I mean, I've met some pretty limited people during my career.
"Retribution": Enfield: People who only go by rumors?
Stefan.Mortensen: Either that, or just a low IQ.
"Retribution": Enfield: Mhmm...
"Retribution": Enfield: Un-suprisingly they asked me if i wanted "Their gift."
Stefan.Mortensen: Honestly? I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, maybe a few special individuals who really managed to piss me off.
"Retribution": Enfield: I mean... "Yes, i would like to work for you now and again. But if i want /fun times/ with my fiancee, i want privacy"
"Retribution": Enfield: You know... That feeling of independance.
"Retribution": Enfield: And I mean, I'm not going to work against them any time soon.
Stefan.Mortensen: By the way, I think you should have this cardamine back, unless you keep your own stash somewhere.
"Retribution": Enfield: Why?
"Retribution": Enfield: I only needed to see what one dosage was like.
Stefan.Mortensen: Believe me when I say, you will need it.
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh boy.
Stefan.Mortensen: Why?
"Retribution": Enfield: "They" coming to pay me a visit?
Stefan.Mortensen: I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but that's not how it works.
Stefan.Mortensen: One does not simply try it and be done with it.
"Retribution": Enfield: Mhmm, Turst me, its going to happen.
"Retribution": Enfield: Just... Once i clear things... or rather mess things up... with the agency.
"Retribution": Enfield: Then, I'm moving my cybernetic ass and my Android wife to malta.
"Retribution": Enfield: Its a safezone for us when things go Tits up.
Stefan.Mortensen: And how soon is that going to be?
"Retribution": Enfield: Less than a month i think.
"Retribution": Enfield: Once the project I'm working on reaches its final stages.
"Retribution": Enfield: Packing my bags and running.
"Retribution": Enfield: Along with a few bits.
Stefan.Mortensen: The deprivation usually starts to show up a week or two after the last dosage.
"Retribution": Enfield: I'll find a firefight to take it off my mind.
"Retribution": Enfield: I mean, its the second time i've used it.
Stefan.Mortensen: When was the first?
"Retribution": Enfield: Last year, just took my filter off while walking around Malta.
"Retribution": Enfield: Took around a ten minute smoke break outside my liner.
Stefan.Mortensen: Have you been taking stabiline in the meantime?
"Retribution": Enfield: No, have some quarrels with cryer, don't like them.
Stefan.Mortensen: That's just... impossible.
"Retribution": Enfield: Dosage of powdered cardamine normally takes around 6 months to become dependant.
Stefan.Mortensen: igulengiqnega
"Retribution": Enfield: Last time i checked.
Stefan.Mortensen: Errr, okay...
Stefan.Mortensen: Well, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.
"Retribution": Enfield: Intake of it around Malta was less than a few micrograms.
"Retribution": Enfield: So yes... Might of gotten a little... "High".
"Retribution": Enfield: Hell of a headache for a few days.
"Retribution": Enfield: Today was like... Less than a microgram of the gas.
"Retribution": Enfield: Refined gas to be exact
Stefan.Mortensen: Alright then.
"Retribution": Enfield: So its still going to hurt like hell tomorrow morning.
If you find your ship in Bastille please check the Sanction sub-forum on Discoverygc.com.
"Retribution": Enfield: Anyway...
"Retribution": Enfield: Anything else you wanted to ask?
Stefan.Mortensen: That's about it.
Stefan.Mortensen: Seems like I have to get going now.
Stefan.Mortensen: Was a nice chat, I must admit.
Stefan.Mortensen: Hopefully, it won't be our last.
"Retribution": Enfield: Better than most people.
"Retribution": Enfield: or Humans to be exact
Stefan.Mortensen: Mhm.
"Retribution": Enfield: Do me a favour.
"Retribution": Enfield: Can you keep it down low... about this who cardamine thing.
"Retribution": Enfield: And your friends too, keep me out of suspicion of my own agency.
Stefan.Mortensen: I became an expert in keeping secrets, you've got nothing to worry about.
"Retribution": Enfield: Its not easy when a nomad announces that I'm one of theirs in the middle of house space.
"Retribution": Enfield: I luckily managed to write it off as an attempt to... "Infect" me.
Stefan.Mortensen: I might have been there on one of those sessions.
"Retribution": Enfield: Yeah.
Stefan.Mortensen: Above New Berlin, a week or two ago.
"Retribution": Enfield: No...
"Retribution": Enfield: Before that.
"Retribution": Enfield: One by the name of...
"Retribution": Enfield: Ish'tar
Stefan.Mortensen: Oh well...
Stefan.Mortensen: Anyways, it's time for me to leave. Do me a favor and stay out of trouble, si?
"Retribution": Enfield: Thats if people would let me. *he chuckles*
Stefan.Mortensen: I know, I know...
