LNS-Reliant

Ship: Liberty Assault Carrier
Tag: Liberty Navy Guard
ID: Liberty Navy Guard
Armament:
11 Battleship Secondary Turret
1 Battlerazor
4 Basic Battleship Missile

The LNS-Reliant was commissioned in 782 AS to be a bomber carrier in the Rheinland conflict. When tensions abruptly broke out into war, the Reliant, named after the ANS Reliant of the Alliance-Coalition war in Sol, was dispatched to Bering in 793 AS to hold against the anticipated Rheinland fleet attack. The attack never came. Instead, in 795 AS, a small sortie of Rheinland bombers slipped in past the fighter screen using a form of cloaking device. These craft fired a salvo of torpedoes that left the Reliant dead in space for the next fifteen years. Plans were made, rethought, pored over, and lost in the bureaucracy of the High Command until shortly after the defeat of the Nomads in 800 AS. In 810 AS, salvage crews were sent to ascertain the state of the venerable ship. Their inspections revealed that the hull was still spaceworthy, and that a retrofit of the ship would enable it to serve the Navy for a number of years to come.

About 813 AS, the last of the repairs had been completed, and the reborn Reliant was placed in Texas to serve as a fighter escort carrier for the Southern Alliance. When the two fleets were combined into the LN proper in 816 AS, the Reliant's captain, one Darryl Mason, was ordered to move his ship to California to cut off the escape of the 522nd. There, they performed well, the crew and pilots accounting for a number of 522nd fighters and transports.

Current day: The Reliant has been saved from the scrapyards by the valiant efforts of the crew and officers, and has been assigned New York and Texas for patrol. Having received its updated transponder module, the crew has petitioned the Admiralty for permission to place the ship in drydock for a slight powerplant and weapon emplacement tweak. This would permit the ship to mount a single Heavy Mortar in addition to the regular Battleship Secondary turrets it carries now.

After the refit, it was determined that the strain of a Mortar would be too much for the power core, and so a compromise was decided upon: The vessel would retain the Razor and most of the turrets, but replace four of them with missile pods to facilitate long-range combat needs.

//OOC part

Reasons for unusual setup:

None. This ship is fully within the acceptable loadout for a Liberty Carrier.

Limitations:

This ship is a Naval craft, and so cannot ally with unlawfuls, or fulfill bounty contracts.
This ship carries no armor or advanced weaponry, save a Battlerazor pending LN approval, to simulate the aged nature of the ship.
This ship follows orders from [LN] officers of Lieutenant rank and above.

Treewyrm Wrote:all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.
