Size does matter

So I have now the basic idea of my station layed out and mostly the hangar too.
I just want to make sure we will all be on the same page

Again it is on the topic of the average size of a ship. Becasue my modeling program relies on dimensions, I figure this would be very nice to know.

From a quick research on google I found this page:

It gives me something of about 15 m x 20 m rounded size of the fighter plan to work with. (pretty big)

I had also looked into FL for some reference.

Example is the IMG fighter:


If we look at these things here too we can see the dimentions of a human body.
Since the IMG fighter has a human model, we can approx the size of the ship in dimensions we can understand.

Let's say that... for the width of a cockpit it would be 85 cm wide. (I am sitting in a wide comfy chair atm with arm rests that is 65 atm so i added 20 more cm)

the width them of the IMG ship would be approx 85 x 11 = 935 cm or 10 meters approx
The length lets say of the cockpit would be 3'-1" for the body plus... 2 feet extra? so that is like 155 cm
155 cm x 6 = 930 cm or 10 m as well.

If you compare to that then yes ofc there is something wrong becasue the silhouette shows it NOT being a square massing, so we can assume perhaps that there is more than the 2 feet...
Lets assume 12-13 meters

So the ship is 10 x 12 meters sized.

Now if you look at the ships and compare them... I have concluded that the longest is the ospray and the widest looks to be the eagle.
The eagle looks to be actually 15m perhaps in width compared to the 10m IMG fighter.
The ospray looks to be as well given 15m or more in size.

Therefor... I have concluded from this that on average snubs would be max 15 x 20 meters.

Something off in my reasoning? Agree? Disagree? Let me know please!

most of the sizing of those ships is by feeling - not logic. That is why some cockpits are claustophobic like the ravens cockpit - and some would be cavernous.

in terms of comparable size - i think the disco fighters are meant to be around the size of a modern day fighter jet.

a quick google search says that a f-15 eagle (i think it is one of the larger fighters) is around 64 feet long (18 meters) - so your measures seem to be kind of correct with 15-20 meters.
