This may have been covered before, but would it be possible to randomise the respawning location? When killed you are transported to a random friendly base (faction of whoever tractors in your pod).
allright, now picture this, i often find myself fully green to corsairs on my outcast char for doing anti gmg and bhg missions (i fix the oorpness asap ofcourse) so i get killed and what then o.o i respawn on Crete? woha

Sounds a tad... random, eh, Stoat? Why would you want that? I mean, it could make sense if you spawned at the nearest friendly base, but since reputations aren't perfect that could be problematic. Also, what really is the sense in that? I mean, do friendly bases keep extra fighters for you? I don't know. This is as iffy as it can be.

Expanding this to a less OORP example, my Outcast working in Bretonia is full green with the Hessians. If his ship unexpectedly gets blasted in Tau-23, does popping back up in the Omegas really make any sense at all, considering that Cape Wrath and Cali, both Outcast bases, are much closer?
I'm going to think this would be bad because like what sindroms has said, even though my new lane hacker character is um, new,. i started with corsairs red to me, but since i do a lot of missions against BHG, I'm starting to get good rep with them. so, if i happened to be somewhere near a corsair base, and i died, in the way you explained this, i would be un-docking from a corsair base, and boom, i get me a nice shiny sanction for oorp docking or whatnot.
the entire idea does sound a bit iffy, but there could be some rp implications. say, a liberty officer/military shot you down, if was specifically targeted to if the LN person tractored in your pod, you would end up re-spawning at a LN Prison station, but I believe coding that would cause more than frustration... more like someone going insane

BTW: Darth Malik, like the avy, like the Tifa image, though i don't recognize the one in the back and it looks like someone is on her shoulders.... but I digress just wanted to point it out.

It would represent freindly forces scrambling and getting your pod, then taking you back to base.
This would be humourous in the case of traders, where refusing to pay tax has larger implications than simpily respawning and repurchasing cargo.
However, I'd say this is impossible, and is probably another one of those things that could be fobbed off simpily by waving the words 'Source Code' about.
