This is starting to get repetitive and annoying! It just wont start, what the hell is the problem with this pile of candies?! I run it as administrator and nothing happens, I reinstalled it a couple of times, but everything remains the same! What do I need to do to get this dumb piece of antique to run?!

Cant be bothered to read the other responses.

1) Run the actual exe file in compatibility mode (try XP SP3) (Freelancer/EXE/Freelancer.exe -> Right click, Properties, Compatibility tab, Then set the mode to XP)


2) Verify if you have .net framework installed. To me this is the most likely suspect.

Check both solutions and guess what? I am still drinking rum and thinkig what shape would that PC look like if I hit it with a hammer or something smoler, like an axe...

Hmm...Try out the solution I always use for old games:

Put compatibility with WinXP SP3 - that's it.

At least it worked for me until my pc went garbage :/

i have same problem, windows says it cant run in compatiblity mode be another application is interferring
