The official history of [something] dates back 810 AS. when the group was founded as a part of Kusari Naval Forces division designated to participate in the war with Bretonia. However, the exact time of founding is situated deeper in the past, as some of its pilots have served in the KNF before the official forming of [something]. From the very first while, the assault force consisted of three "Takeda" class destroyers, namely Fugaku, Narusawa and Ryuuguu, which were its primary mobile headquarters and heavy support units playing major role within the Division. Furthermore, the group of destroyers was aided by four "Ashikaga" class gunboats and a few dozens of fighter wings to become a universal and flexible task force able to operate in various situations. With the war preparations going on, more and more people had been recruited and sat in fighter's cockpits after necessary trainings and preparations. Under all those circumstances, the upcoming fights have been first serious scenes of combat in case of many pilots. This was where the theory got forged into practice and all the simulations from screens became cooperative manauvers in real battlefield, especially when the Gallic forces have arrived. This event was a turning point for the whole war, cutting the Kusarian forces from their homeworlds and resulting in attacks at both them and Bretonians. It required a new strategy and forced the both sides of yet hot conflict to forget about arguments and work together in order to face new common enemy - the Gallic Royal Navy. Such actions ended up with them being exiled from the Kusari, which became Gallia's protectorate.
Ozai Kotsumada
The [something] forces where highly cooperating with their new Bretonian allies and flying along with their battlebrothers of the 343rd Kaigun Kokutai. Despite that, the situation was difficult - they got cut off from supply lines, exiled from Kusari and trapped in hostile territory between Gallic phalanxes. As the officer with the highest rank within the [something], Ozai Kotsumada was giving orders onboard the Fugaku, which played the role of division's flagship. With the time passing by, a new strategy was put into practice - unable to face the Gallic forces in regular fights with the whole fleets, they decided to hold their heavy capital vessels back and use the guerilla tactics instead. It would help to reduce casualties, but still to cause damage to the massive enemy. The words were simple, but putting them into practice required something more than honest will. At that point, they were sitting in the middle of a warzone with enemies everywhere around. Soon after reaching this decision, the Division's situation became dramatic. The Gauls sent a massive force they couldn't resist with their vessels and would have propably died without the sacrifice from the KDS-Teikoku. The destroyer has moved between both Valors, which concentrated their fire on it, just to buy the remaining forces enough time to evacuate and avenge all the fallen at some point in the future. The vessel, despite all it's bravery, couldn't fight forever and got hit by two Warwolfs resulting in explosion in nearly no time. The loss was a painful scar for all Exiled forces, but it gave them the opportunity to heal wounds and regroup with the remaining ones. The slaughtered force proceeded to the Newcastle system along with the survivors, where they met help from the Council forces in terms of a hideout and repair spot. Since then, they engaged the enemy as often as they could using the guerrilla, causing as much damage as possible, before disappearing as fast as they've appeared.
With their might being lowered, ships being damaged and memories of encounters from the past still present in their minds, they came to decision to join the main forces, who started calling themselves as Imperial Navy, and take part in new type of combat - igniting a Civil War in their homeworlds, the Kusari Space. Once the new orders hit, the whole group has moved in full force to aid the remaining Imperials in the Kyushu system. Currently, this is their main combat theater and the situation will most likely remain the same for yet unknown time of being.
