In all honesty, even if you think the Civilian bomber is the worst thing ever, if it fits your RP, use it. The CD bug, while occasionally annoying, is not fatal (assuming you check your CD before moving off every time). I operate 2 Civilian bombers, and do so because that's what my RP dictates.
However, if you prefer PvP over RP, the Taiidan is usually accepted as a "civilian" bomber and performs better in combat than a preagle.

Yeah, but it's Hessian-designed and Junker-sold, and most commonly used by Rhinelandish pirates (according to the inforcard). Technically not entirely unlawful, but far from lawful.
The Havoc Mk. II is a (lawful) civilian bomber. Designed by Ageira for the LN and BAF, but then sold on the open market. But it looks like a plane.

They did the same with the Borderworld ships, saying stuff like "It's sold only on Outcast and Hessian bases and used only by Outcasts and their allies" while in reality, its lawful-ness could stretch to Freelancer use. The same could happen to the Waran. I'm actually thinking of trying it out now...I think it looks...well, not nice, but not as ugly as you guys are saying...
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
I share Drake's opinion about the Waran.
The Havok may be worth a try. I'm looking forward what happen when i roam in Rheinland with that vessel.

Like the Freelancer Stilettos that have gunboat-level armor.
