Or, conversely, think about the Xenos or the LPI. Both factions deal with massive waves of fighters of every type. Lately the LPI has been especially epic for helping me brush up my anti-gunboat training.
Try slapping a Razor on a Hammerhead... I tried it, and even I (the guy with 6 Widows and a Razor on an Eagle, and 7 Krakens/Inferno on a Sabre) lost it. Too much.
That being said, the Hammerhead is a beast if you can dodge and don't hit mines/missiles. Faster than an Eagle. If you're BH, go CD though, you'll need it.
If you want your Order to get some PVP, I parked my Manta on FP11.
If you go Molly, forget the Greyhound: be a man and use a Werewolf! You can fly it, you can fly anything.
If you make a mercenary, 90% of factions will hate you for no reason whatsoever beyond the fact that you have a mercenary ID. The only places you'l be welcome are Junker bases, and possibly Rheinland (I dunno enough about their attitude towards mercs, tho).
As for 1v1 combat; dosn't usually happen...most people either fly around in groups or call for backup when trouble shows...

That's the problem with being a BHG fighter jock. When you attempt to get a bounty on a Corsair/Outcast, the fleet will get rolled out to stomp all over you. I've seen BHG fighters persued over 500K up, down and all around the map on Gamma by Legates, Handbags and a motely assortment of Titans and Praetorians.
Not really great odds there :/
As for PvP and Me... Well, we generally mistrust each other and usually one leaves the room when the other turns up.

Try going with four Wyrm 2's, 2 krakens 2's and a kraken turret on a sabre... it drains like nothing else, but the damage output is OVER NIIINE THOOOOUUSAND.

When you're a mercenary, unless you join an established group, you have to work up a reputation for yourself. People "hate" you because they have no idea if you're around to kill them or otherwise.
