Hello, I am Patricia Marcellino.
IN NEWS JUST COMING IN: There is news of a disaster unfolding right now in New Berlin. Reports are sketchy and unconfirmed sources say a rescue is underway at Breuninger Station to rescue crew members who are caught inside.
We are not sure of the situation, but sources in the Rhineland Police say as many as 600 crewmember lives are endangered. There are casualties it seems, but too early to say how many at this stage.
I hand you now live to Stuart Webster, who is at the scene.
Stuart Webster: Thank you Pat. Though things are still sketchy what I can tell you is that a full rescue operation is underway after a Libertonian ship passing by noted Breuninger Station not responding to hails from the ship. After repeated efforts to contact Rhineland officials drew no response, according to the Pilot, one Steve Veltman of the =DSE-Enterprise managed to land to what must have been a horrific sight. He is currently with the police right now, but I can confirm there are casualties, as many as 150 dead, and many, many injured.
Currently, medics are inside and an investigation is underway as to what caused this tragedy.
Patricia Marcellino: It's Patricia, "Stu". Can you tell us what actually happened? Was there an explosion, a fire perhaps?
Stuart Webster: It's Stuart, "Pat". No one can say at this stage, but the =DSE- pilot did mention the base was severely run down, that the scrubbers were "offline" when he docked and the oxygen levels were very low. We'll know more as soon as we get a briefing from the Rhineland Police who are coordinating the rescue. Back to you, Pat.
