"Today, Admiral Richard and rest of the Admirality gathered and decided that the "Voleé" Cannons were too expensive to maintain on Olympia and decided that Olympia returns to utilizing commonly available "Cerberus" Repeaters again. There would be a small, negligible damage projection loss, however the Voleé's costs were off the charts. We gained significant amoung of research data from an interested Gallic citizen of those cannons. Now how that are relevant to me? They are not. But the Admirality decided the obtained research data could be used on CFV-Ares. Ares needs alot of equipment replaced since last refit anyways. To the point of a complete armor re-plating and complete refit of weapons onboard. The knowledge disclosed to me was mindblowing. That independent captain shows up in Coronado from time to time... Ezreal, was his name? Damn, that guy somehow acquire alot of those blueprints of prototype weapons. So far bought several blueprints from him. Rumors says Admiral Richard buys even more blueprints for us from that guy just today.
I proposed those Corsair-Origin "GALE" Cannons to be utilised on Ares's Heavy Weapon mounts that i saw on a BAF Dunkirk-Class Battleship.. Admiral disclosed the info that we already have those guns blueprints. We could combine those weapons with several EMP weapons and damn, the results would be devastating…"
"Comm from Admiral...says that Ezreal has even more blueprints and we got some. I dont know. Costs of those weapons are insane, mindblowing, to some extent. Even then, their utilty is insanely good too. Capability of stripping shields in seconds. Flaks deshielding snubcraft in single shot… Unimaginable power, if i have a say. Admiral said CDI will produce all of the weapons as soon as possible and Ares will go into refit in hours."
"Refits...refits everywhere. It's Argus's turn now. First of recommissioned Argus battlecruisers -obviously- and currently lead vessel of venerable ship pf the line. Obviously, Admirality decided it's weaponary could be a kittle better. We, ahem… "looted" a "Breaker" Turret from a GRN task force that fits on Battlecruiser Heavy Weapon mounts. 2 of them will complement the HKEW-47 s on the Argus well. 53rd squadron told me they are reverse-engineering the turret for further production.
"I cant believe it. The Phobos… recommissioned. But how? I saw its hull getting breached and a Nightmare torpedo blowing a hole on it... Yet it stands there, in the drydock of Sabah Shipyard right now. Something is different though… The crew,, the hullnumber designation… Rumors says it is used as home of 78th squadron and there are automated drone tests. The crazy bunch on 53rd squadron found a way to directly link autonomous AI controlled crafts into Zephyr's processing drives, and actually there are plans to include even more computing power and enlarging the hangar bay. Xiphos Mark-II powercores cannot hold that much stress and they may need to ditch heavier weapons in order to keep power supplied to the drone operation and communication links. Admirality thinks the whole drone wazoo will be beneficial to Zephyr-Class and relegate Zephyrs into pure, underarmored but cheaper to manufacture C&C platforms. That may work, may not work. The tests on Phobos will show all soon enough..."
"I...am transferred into the Phobos and given its command. Also the command of 78th... Sabah Research Section finished the construction of Jump Drive Mark III for the Phobos too. So that it can support operations with relative ease. Reports came to me indicates automated drone tests were a success and now we can use refitted 'Touketsu' frames in order to massproduce those drones. To enlarge the bays of Zephyr, Sabah Research Section had to develop a whole new powercore that is rather miniaturized. Obviousy the new Xiphos Mark IV has lower power projection, however it takes way lesser space than Mark II and we can use extra space for drone housing and MORE computers!"
"And the "Mark III" Zephyr is a success! It excels at supporting fleets and cannot do much on its own, however it can still annoy Vakırs tı the point of ultimate boredom on their captains and they eventually retreat. However, while it was a success, i see room for improvement on Phobos. There should be leftover blueprints from Project Olympia and i believe Admirality will allow me to use surplus equipment. Prototype Coalition tech should go alongside well enough. Ironically, relevant research data is rumored to be sold at a Corsair modular installation. Price is rather hefty but i believe i can convince the Admirality and the government..."
"I managed to convince the Admirality and they sent an unmanned OS&C Ferry to grab the research data from the rumored Corsair installation. It is known that the installation is at Omicron Gamma, however it will take some "exploration" to pinpoint the exact location. Perhaps we can directly ask Council of Elders or The Brotherhood command.
I learned that we already have blueprints of those "Autopulse" Turrets and the "Kreisky" Dual Gatling Laser Turrets. We just need the relevant data to construct those. It does not make too much sense why we need the research data again to construct, but 53rd guys says we need those. So be it..."
"After pondering around, banging heads and throwing tantrums after seeing Zephyr Mark III's performance, Admirality and i, decided that investing on Phobos will be a waste of effort, time, resources and more resources as we saw the uselessness of the new drone system in fleet engagements. Unlike virtual test scenarios real fleet engagements brought unexpected results. Snubcrafts happens to handle those drones to the point that drones becomes nonexistant and all the Zephyr can do is lobbing pulses at enemy that way. After seeing such ridiculous scenarios, Admirality decided to go back to drawing table for Zephyrs and invest on the more reliable Argus-Class.
Those "Breaker" Turrets that were mentioned before, found to function akin to miniaturized Hellbore Dreadnought Turrets and they have great potential especially after Argus refits done. That is of course, in theory for now.
So far 53rd and CDI managed to construct one of those and we need at least one more."
