Adam has been giddy with excitement all week. He's ripping all the wrapping paper off the presents under the tree right now. Shopping for them was fun, but the expressions on little face are the cherry on the cake.
Christmas is so aggressively commercialised, isn't it? Capitalism was something that I was taught to vilify as evil when growing up. Days ago when I was shopping, I saw homeless men, and a few women too, and I was reminded of my education. But still, I couldn't help but look towards the shining lights and bright colours of the department stores. It might be evil to create classes of those who have and those who don't, but unless you're in the military where I come from, you would definitely be cold tonight. It is just another working day, after all.
I hope your work is going smoothly. I know it demands all of your time as it did mine in the past. Vigilance is required particularly when the people let down their guard and go home for the holidays. Of course, I wish it was somebody else that had to, but it's what both of us signed up for. It would always be one of us.
Please tell me when you'll be home. Adam and I are waiting for you.

Sonja.
I'm glad Adam's having a good time, I haven't had much time to myself in the past few days, things in New London haven't calmed down at all. I don't think I've ever seen a fleet deployment this big, Gallia really just wants to see Bretonia burn. I wish I could be back Home with you and Adam right now, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting relieved any time soon, the front here is only getting worse. I'm not sure how long our defensive is going to hold or if it'll even last. I can only hope for the best, and that this will all be over soon.
I've got to go now. I'll try to stay in touch. I love you.
