The Heavy Ion Blasters need some fixing. First off, they cost 1m power to fire, and drain 2m power from the enemy core. Sure, best-case-scenario, once every 45 seconds you can spend 1m power to take 2m power from the enemy ship. But that is best-case-scenario. Since these have to be used while the enemy shield is down, this means that you can only fire them after you've just hit the enemy with a lot of shots -- which means they've likely been shooting their guns, too -- which means their power core will not be full, and you are not likely to drain the full amount of power from them. Which means you just wasted 1m power to do nothing. On average, you will probably drain 500k-1m power from them, while you're sacrificing a gun slot and spending 1m power on every shot to do so.

I suggest reducing their power cost to 500k. This will increase your odds of actually draining more power from your enemy than you spent to fire the guns, instead of spending more power shooting them than you're even taking from the enemy most of the time.

Likewise, the cruiser variant should have its power cost reduced to 250k.

People are currently selling scidata for 5-6m each. These guns cost 125 scidata each.

People are currently struggling to sell these guns for 300M. They can't even sell for less than half of their cost. You know they're broken when they're that bad.

Please put as much effort into rebalancing things that are underpowered as you do rebalancing things that are good.

Core draining weapons are, in my opinion, a failed experiment. The fact is, as long as the bug exists that causes the enemy's power to regen to full if you drain it below 0, these guns simply wont be worth using. This is further complicated by the fact that you cannot see an enemy's current power level.

Actually, they only regenerate the enemy's power core if they've recently come out of cruise. I have tested, and they don't regenerate your core when you are hit with a low power core, while firing all weapons.

Please move this thread. I did not mean to post it in Rules. I meant to post it in Mod Discussion.

Hvy Ion blasters are fine, they drain powercore when used on hull. 2 of them completely drain powercore of a bc and are great tanking tools against bs.
the cruiser ion blasters are weak af drain 1mill but use 800k, is not worth it.

Ion Blasters are stupidly strong Tools in close combat fights as they are. You just need to know how to use them.
The Cruiser ones need some adjustment, since they barely drain more than they cost.

Considering they are intended for heavy battleships who have plenty of secondaries and ions take up a secondary slot they aren't weak at all.

If anything it's the cruiser ions that are bad because they take 800k core for a chance to do 1 million, while being on a more important slot.

And the nomad version, neutralizers - Cruiser Neutralizers take 30k energy to drain 40k energy, with a 1.0 refire rate. You need at least 4 of them just to have a meaningful impact on another ship's core regen, and then you're killing your own regen as well.
