Begins to look better. You might want to sort out those colours though... Light Blue + Light Red.ish + Light Green/Cyan really don't make a nice contrast here.
Try to use a more bipolar colour-scheme: go for two main colours that don't interfere with your ship and char renders, for example a golden/black scheme.

Arty attempts aside, my main rule in design is this: try to make the image as simple as possible while making it look as best as possible.

If you can follow that rule you mostly end up with pleasing results.
