Admin Notice, player sanctioned and banned

Jackpot.Mineur has been sanctioned and banned for:

3.2 Flaming, threats and insulting (in any form) other members, factions, server administrators in chat, public
or private, is prohibited on server and on forums. RP-related threats are allowed on the server.

Sanction: no less than 14-day ban.

6.1 Every player must have an ID equipped on his or her ship. Players under level 40 might use Civilian IDs
(basic IDs sold on every station), characters who reach level 40 must choose an NPC faction to ally and get
the ID of this faction, or get a generic ID.

While the language was not as bad as some we have seen recently, insulting in French is just the same as
using English. That, coupled with a civilian ID on a level 59 ship means you get the minimum allowed.

Fined all credits, guns and the contents of your hold. Banned for fourteen days.

Hello,

My account have been banned few days ago from the server. For apparently a langage misuse.

I would like to see the proof of the conversation (screenshot) that lead to this banishment. I have notice that some players have been banned for insulting toward others players whereas i have only used slang against myself and the ship, as far i can remember.

I think that the duration (14 days) is very long for the little i have done.

Regarding the civil ID issue : i was in the process to getting another one when i have been banned !!! But i played since one week and its very hard to find a miner ID. And i didn't see that buy a ship give you 50 level without making any mission (that is amazing !!)

I have also notice that i can not log anymore on the server, which is very sad.

So after see screenshots, im really not aggree with you Hoodlum. For me you are a lier, if you dont understand french try www.wordreference.com that website can help you....

I never insult other members, factions, server administrators or anything else and your screenshot never show that !

I slang on me only and in RP ! Like in life you know, we are playing to freelancer and not Teletubbies game.
When a pilot make a big mistake in life, he slang... go outside to see that everywhere.

So i'm waiting for escuse from you as soon as possible, my name Kaltalo play to many game and i never be banned from one of them !

Secondly :
When somebody send his msn adress or 3 private messages, an administrator must answer him i think to be in good mind.

Finally : the civilian ID :
Tell me where i can find the miner one and im going fetch it as soon as possible.
I got my vessels since 4 days i search for the miner id since 3 days what can i do ??
Put in the wiki every id with place where we can find it and it would be ok for lot of people !


I ask to an another administrator to read that issue and check the 14 days of bannishment.
(I can read on that forum 7 days for rascism insults !)

I was not going to post here.

But I'm allowed, since I'm the one who filed the report in the first place.

Cursing the Sabre npc pilot with a four letter word that refers to fecal matter and starts with 's' is one thing.

My ship coming up behind you and you saying what, according to Wiktionary, translates out to starting with the letter F in English when I was asking you to heave to is a second thing.

Then having the Civ ID, docking at base that is claimed by my faction and then giving me a ration of crap about it and effectively telling me to leave you alone with absolutely no RP - what was your phrase, something along the lines of 'Go play your game'....

I can certainly tolerate quite a bit. But for me that was three strikes and you're out, my friend.

As you can see by clicking here, all you would have had to do was buy a trader ID first, and then go do your setup. You would've been perfectly fine. Since you chose not to follow the rules of our sever - please don't complain. FInding any kind of miner, junker, or other ID is irrelevant. There's a reason why these forums are here - the minor detail that you chose not to utilize them prior to begining to play is irrelevant.

I do know Kaltalo quite a bit, as a friend, as a man.
He's not the kind of guy to insult players.

I find this banishment outrageous, as It is clear that no insults have been sent against any player... Maybe some of them felt been targeted, but that would be another story...

Regarding this rule not to use slang language or smilies for the sake of just *Role Playing*, I think that some people here misinterpretated what Role playing means. I 'm a warrior in combat, I play my role, and shout : "You gobelins bastards , eat your **** !" and rush into combat.

This is perfectly RP.

Insults are part of human language, since thousands of years.
That's how things are and my advise is if you are looking for good RP players, review this rule.

Regarding his ID issue, I really think YOU guys should provide more info on WHERE we should look for those ID's.

Moreover, how God do you want people that acquired a ship with the help of a friend and who is new in the game would be ble to FIND or even KNOW up about IDs.

How could one be able to CARRY a faction ID without being fully green with them, which is impossible if he got a ship with someone's help.

I have lost a friend player here guys because of your rules stricter than any other MMORPG I have ever player... I'm really thinking of living that server. And will for sure badly publicly advertise your server if nothing changes...

@Hoodlum: When I read "Fined all credits, guns and the contents of your hold. Banned for fourteen days. " for the little that player have done against other players, is really too much.

@Agmenatwork: Thanks for your link to Character's Setup but I doubt all new players will spend their time searching the forums , which is TOTALLY understandable.

Gentlemen, we all have to make choices, and if your is to play here, you will follow our rules, strict as they
are. Never had a problem with them, neither have most of the other ten thousand odd characters here
either. That is your choice ... And your responsibility to read and learn them.
And any sanctions are a group decision, this one I got to post ...

You are lying on me and on my name i hate that. Im waiting again for your excuse Hoodlum or from the group who write those ridiculous things.

And i can read that the sanction refer to this part so im waiting to get my account unbanned fastly.

Finally just a question : why you send me "It is never ever tolerated, even to the extent of *** out the
word, the intonation is still there." in your private message and we can read in your sign "Some say you should put your fingers in your ears, bend over, and kiss your *** goodbye." ? -> What does that mean the three "*" ?

Another way to be ridiculous ? or to proove that my bannishment is totally incongruous ?

Indeed, it seems that some people are good to setup rules but not to follow them...

I am still not convinced about that rule against usual slang words in RP, as

I think this does not reflect "pure RP" situations, as a typical RPG would.
Indeed, a warrior rushing on a group of gobelins would ideally shout :
"You gobelins b.ast.ards ! I'll kick your a.s.s !"
"Holy s.hit ! They are getting closer ! Run !!"

Not allowing stars to replace slang is completely silly, as it is done in most of the MMORPGS around the place.

Ok gents, this is not an MMORPG, we do not have goblins here last time I looked in the mod, and the rules are
not up for debate. This is Discovery Freelancer, it is unique ...
All I have seen here is excuses as to why you should be allowed to do what you want, and not a shred of
understanding or anything close to an apology. If you are unhappy with the way we do things round here,
then you have other choices.
Now unfortunately, as people not involved directly are posting here, this thread will now be locked.
