"Sardinia's Scanner Array"

Planet Sardinia situated in Omicron Phi is a frozen planet composed of mostly barren soil with a dense opaque nitrogen-ammonia atmosphere. The direct and unobstructed view of Omicron Psi jumphole and Razgriz blackhole makes this planet a primary point for long-range surveillance. With the Medium Green Sun in an optimal distance, the ground radars are running on solar power at daylight and a small nuclear reactor at nighttime with some backup batteries.

As Amonia is a part of the atmosphere's composition and is used anywhere from coolant to water purifying, a small scale observatory post has been built at the north side of the planet for maintenance carried out by 10 robots and 3 people. Two freighters carry food and mechanical supplies every month and check on the residents. Currently the objective is to keep tabs on Austera Nube and Razgriz Blackhole from afar. At the same time, improved and more resilient radar technology is being tested out for better overall reception and signal quality. Second objective includes extracting ammonia and nitrogen from the air and enriching the soil to grow some basic plants, so far with a success.

The South side of the planet is testsite for Battleship class weaponry fired from space and the content thrown from the holes hundreds of meters away is examined by few remotely controlled tracked vehicles. Weapon tests include measuring the energy conversion to blast power to fine tune their possible planetary bombarding capabilities.
