Game Resources

I've been looking for the in-game resources for a while now. Apologies if this information is available elsewhere but I've not been able to find it.

What I'm looking for specifically is the interface images. I'm setting up the deckboard app on one of my android devices to function as a kind of macro device for Freelancer. I would ideally like the actual imagery from the game to put on the buttons to display what functions I want to get on the app.

I faintly recall that there is a way to decompress the actual game files on my computer to extract these images but I've been digging and I really can't find any program to do this and/or the information about how to do this.

Any help appreciated.
