I have a small problem i cannot solve since some time now, maybe someone got an idea.
Playing Freelancer online, each time someone log in on the server and i see the message in red that someone logged in, my game fps-lag for like 1ms in ''that'' moment, it is not really noticeable, but sometimes when tons of people depart and log in it is annoying at all.
My game works perfectly fine in SP because there is no internet activity and online my ping is 10-20ms.
I think it is somehow related to my network adapter or Freelancer deep options.
Solutions i tried so far:
Trying all possible Drivers.
Disabling all non system necessary programs.
Network Connections related properties are no help.
I searched in old 03-05 forums again and with a bit of luck to find following answer:
Freelancer can experience performance slow downs when a large amount of text is printed or updated on screen. The work around for this issue is to back off your Windows hardware acceleration settings by one notch in Settings\Control Panel\Display\Settings\Advanced. Once in this menu, you will either see Performance tab or Troubleshoot tab. Future ATI drivers may fix this problem, as they are aware of this issue.
It works better now, not perfect but i am satisfied ^^
