Well I started off life in Liberty, born on Texas 10 years before the Freeport 7 disaster. I cant remember exactly when, or perhaps I dont want to; some memories are best forgotten. Regardless, I was born as a different name to the one here. My parents were both killed by pirates during the Nomad War; to get my own back, I joined the Bounty Hunters, hoping for revenge.
I surged through the ranks, my superiors recognising my diplomatic prowess and my skill as a pilot. I won several commendations for capturing the most criminals during my career. But some years earlier, I had an epiphany. I interrogated several captives to see their view of the universe, and what they said changed my ways forever. For it was suddenly clear to me that everyone had secrets; even the mighty Hunters had information they wanted to keep from the world. And everyone viewed the universe in a different way, seeing different threats and having different opinions. And so, this made everyone a threat.
I left the guild on a civilian vessel that was carrying supplies to my station. I didnt tell anyone where I was going; I needed to dwell on what I had learned. I landed on Manhattan, started a new life there. However, I heard through some sources that there was a Bounty on my head; obviously my employers wanted a letter of resignation signed with my blood. I stole some credits from a drunk trader and bought myself the best ship I could afford: a starflier. I then changed my name to Boffdudey, for no other reason than to hide my identity from everyone.
So, this is where my story starts: an old life ending for a new one to begin. I reside in Liberty, but go where the money is. I have no allegiance to any of the major factions in Sirius; trust and forgiveness comes slowly to me. I use false transponder plates on my ship to avoid detection from the authorities; this allows me to interact with different organisations without fear of reprisals. This is only to further my knowledge of the universe; to discover, you need both sides of the law on your side.
I now earn my keep escorting traders across the galaxy. On several occasions I have used my diplomatic skill to buy ships that wouldnt be available to me normally; a prime example of this is when I bought a Barracuda. I use any ship that suits my present needs; in the future I will be expanding my freelance business and will sell myself to the highest bidder, whether lawful or unlawful.
