The Free Trade Guild is a guild made up of independent traders. Our purpose is both to protect our own and turn a profit, and to protect other indpendent traders and traders from freindly/neutral factions from any threat to their cargo. Whether it pirates, corrupt corporations or naval custums officers trieng to enforce their unreasonable trade embargos.

We do not trade any contraband items but we ignore trade embargos. We mix up legal tradeing with blockade running so that the navies won't assume we're always running a blockade.

We use Freelancer ID's and Freelancer tags tags.

We consider ourselves friendly with:
IMG, Zoners, Orbital Spa and Cruise, and GMG.
We are semi freindly torwards:
The Order, Bounty Hunters and Junkers.
We are neutral with:
Most house corporations
We are unfavorable torwards:
House navies/police, BMM, Aigera, any Corsair alligned pirates.
We are hostile torwards:
Any Outcast alligned pirate, terrorists, independent pirates/pirate factions and nomads/wildes.

Beyond the ID restrictions of a Freelancer we do not allow our pilots to use unlawful trade ships (Like pirate or slave transports) or combat ships that are used exclusivly by pirates or navies.

We will allow any weapon considered IC for a Freelancer since weapons are aquireable not only by purchase but by salvage from dead enemies.

As a side note. We may be rough in-character but out of character this is all about fun. Fun for the navies trieng to catch us, fun for us trying to get past them and fun for anyone who joins with us on our crazy blockade runs. Please do not take things personal if you get shot at. We aren't here to tick anyone off. If one of our members breaks server rules its probably because we are new and don't know or understand the rule. I appreciate if you personally give us a warning before running to the admins to file a sanction. Likewise we will do the same for you. Its just common courtesy.

We not only want good relations with our allies but out of character we want to have good relations with our enemies. If you don't like something about or roleplay or think you know a way we could make it more fun for everyone talk to me. I'd be glad to work something out.

(This list is not entirely up to date. I know there are FTG members not on here but here is the 10 needed members.)

[FTG]AndiusTheGreat - Guildmaster
[FTG]Wraith - Escort Commander
[FTG]Frostuflr - Tradesmen
[FTG]Fang - Tradesmen
[FTG]Smummel - Tradesmen
[FTG]Thaddaeus - Tradesmen
[FTG]Credits - Tradesmen
[FTG]Chuck - Tradesmen
[FTG]Ezrail -Tradesmen
[FTG]Venerable -Tradesmen

(As a side not if we were allowed access to Indepedent Trader ID's aswell that would be nice. We chose Freelancer ID's because they would allow us to come to the defence of our fellow traders against any enemy, but some of our members might want the extra 200 cargo.)

Right... what is this thread supposed to be exactly?

If it's a faction proposal read this.

And if it's just an unofficial faction:
What is the history of the faction? Why do you "protect other indpendent traders "? Why are you friendly with the factions you listed? Why are you semi-friendly with the Order and the Bounty Hunter's Guild. Why did you choose the Freelancer ID/IFF?

' Wrote:If one of our members breaks server rules its probably because we are new and don't know or understand the rule.

Just a friendly suggestion: Perhaps you should fly around Sirius a little longer and make sure that you understand the rules and have enough experience to properly lead a faction. Maybe join an official faction to learn the group dynamics and RP conventions.

If you look at what happened with the [GST] and the Liberty Navy, you'll see that if you're part of a trading consortium which consistently breaks embargo's, you'll all be placed on a KoS list. Once or twice and you'd be fine...but if you consistently break Liberty law, you wont get away lightly.

Oh if you are friendly and if you want to help GMG you can drop off your cargo at Aomari Station in Honshu and pick up your H-fuel shipment from there as well. Stay off the miners we will handle H-fuel coming off our miners and the deliveries going to them. Other's that may come directly to our mining stations would be our Allies; Kishiro Tech and Zoners. When the official launch happens (this is still beta) GMG| Security division will have the order to consider any ship undocking from our ming stations with H-fuel to be carrying contraband. They'll be asked to drop the cargo on the spot or be destroyed for the theft. (We collect gas from space as our profession we'll recollect it again). If you strike a deal with IC GMG delivers H-fuel to their base and it is a distribution point.

I have a good membership going so thanks but no-thanks I really don't feel like disbanding it to join another faction.

We protect other independent traders because we are altrustic, and were altrusistic because Im the Guildmaster and wouldn't have it any other way.

We consider the Order semi-freindly because they help deal with the nomads and wildes. We consider BHG semi-freindly because even if the navy might hire them to stop our blockade running from time to time we can still hire them to escort us and they help keep pirate population down. Note that I said SEMI-freindly. That does not mean allied. We don't go out of our way to support either of these factions out. We just have a favorable opinion of them. So think like 1-3 bars on the green side where the freindly factions would accually show up as green to us.

We are Freelancers because we are not members of any faction. We have our own seperate allies, enemies, and policies. We also do not opperate in one specific sector. We are found throughout all of Sirus just like the BHG. Our members do not all belong to any one house though I know me and our escort commander are both ex-LN. However we are NOT freindy with the Liberty or the LN. Ill post my characters profile to explain soon.

But thanks for the tip. I will make a proper post once we have the 500 million needed. Until then if its ok Ill keep this topic here to discuss the FTG. Unless there is a more appropraite seciton?

As to the Liberty Navy. We don't wish to be KOSed. And there are good RP reasons for you not to. Can you give me the name of an offical in the LN who I can discuss our RP relationship with OOC. Unless you are one yourself?

To the GMG. We consider you allies as you are an independent corporation who we do not find to be currupt. I would be very interested in discussing the details of makeing a formal allaince with you. Who would be the best person to talk to about such a matter?

If you have a look at GMG's faction status (link in ProwlerPC's sig), contact any one of the Guild Masters for diplomatic arrangements, and the Trade Supervisor for a trade agreement.

You seem pretty determined - Just make sure that you understand the server rules.

Good luck.

EDIT: It would be proper for this to be in the Faction Feedback forum for crtiqute, perhaps you can ask a moderator to move it. Once the proposal reaches the final version, then post it here for review.

Yes, you could say we're pretty determined. We're all experienced gamers and most of us experienced Roleplayers. Granted, I may be new to Freelancer as certain irl events intervened, but the back history for this game isn't near as complicated or nuanced as many Pen and Papers I've played. I spent 2-3 hours on the Wiki and had it mostly down pat. We've got good people, we're RPing everything (well, except those 5MIL OR DIE pirates, use some creativity people), and we're having fun.

Well you should know that this is not a faction creation request in my opinion, there is no faction history, it contains OORP text that is not denoted, there's not nearly enough RP for the faction itself and you should really have a more specific list of allowed ships and weapons. You might want to look at some of the other creation requests that were granted and compare the length and content. Also yo have to pay 500 million credits, which I would not spend on this as I can tell you right now it wont be accepted. This should be moved to the parent forum and should be re-titled to ask for feedback so you can improve it to the point where it will be accepted.

Exactly what tazuras said.

Also, before posting a Faction Creation Request, you should read every single one of the following threads:

The Admin Notice concerning the 500 million credit fee
The Faction Creation Rules
The Guidelines for all new proposals

As you don't mention the 500 million credits anywhere, this isn't a valid request to start with.

But, let's pretend they were given to the Admins;
Where's your faction history? What are your goals? What ships do you fly? And no, a paraphrase as above doesn't count. State what ships you fly, one by one. What equipment do you use? Where did you get it, where are you based?
These questions need to be answered by any Faction Creation Request Post.

Excuse me? Official Factions are expected to display exemplary and mature roleplay. The basis for any official faction behaviour is the declaration to never break the server rules.

What DeathsOverture told you in the beginning is probably the best advice: join another faction, look at the Faction Status Thread.
You don't have to give up this one in order to do that. The majority of the players here is in multiple factions and has several characters running.
