As mentioned in the Condor Remastered thread, the plan is to split that ship from CTE line and build a new civilian line around it:

Quote:
The new line would still be considered part of sirius-wide civilian techcell, but InRP would be made in deep Omegas, and as such, would be heavily based around technology and aesthetics of the region, so after this model is wrapped up and sent to our dev overlords, I'll be moving on to making a few other ships in this same general style to make this a separate shipline of its own. The new line will most likely end up consisting of a more convoy-oriented composition rather than the typical combat ship roster, which would ultimately include this gunboat, one or two snubs and an armored and/or battle transport of sorts.

Since Jackdaw is another ship on the list of "In dire need of replacement but people actually like its looks", I figured it's worth a shot seeing whether it can fit into the same line as Condor while still preserving its original looks and feel. So basically, a new ship (not a strict remaster) with visual style of Condor and general shapes and profiles of existing Jackdaw:

This is just a quick-n-dirty sketch literally made out of stretched and squashed Condor parts, and is in no way meant to represent what the actual model would end up looking like, so just look at it as a rough visualization of the general idea, nothing more. With that in mind:

Should the HF slot in new Omega Civi line be given to Jackdaw with a redesign along the lines of the above sketch?

[Vote here]

To clarify, the focus of this thread is to decide on the direction of the Omega civi fighter, not a dedicated remaster of existing Jackdaw. The fighter for this line doesnt strictly need to be a replacement for an existing ship, and the only reason jackdaw's an option is simply because stylistically it's already close enough to the line and can be adopted without deviating too much from its original look.
  • If the vote passes, the above sketch will need some substantial cleanup and will be submitted as Jackdaw replacement, which will also shift the ship over to the Omega Civi line.
  • If the vote fails, this thread will be repurposed for a new fighter intended for Omega Civi line and a remaster/remake of Jackdaw as a standalone ship will be left for a later date.

Also,
Quote:There's now a Discord server for Disco Modelers to share their on-going projects and gather feedback:

Main updates, major discussions and polls will still be handled via forums, but if you're interested in keeping up with the more incremental updates and providing real-time feedback, feel free to join.

Hell no. Jackdaw is the best currently civilian heavy fighter. Any other civilian HF should be taken.

If your main concern is Jackdaw getting rebalanced into a standard HF due to the model change, that's not going to be the case and it'll keep its CD+T stats. So no need to worry about that.
